For any Notebook lovers (like we are), this is where they filmed Allie and Noah in the boat on the water. It is such a beautiful park with animals, trails, boat tours, self-guided rides, and plenty of fun for everyone! The park charges $10 per person to enter.
If you want a shopping day, this is the perfect area to do so! It is also one street over from Market St. and easily walkable to any of the downtown activities. From Gucci to local Charleston shops, this street has everything you could look for. The food is also SO good, and we all know we take our food seriously.
This is Grace's favorite spot to eat. It has the most perfect view of the Ravenel Bridge and the marsh. Dolphins are always swimming in the waterway next to the restaurant, and they are always so fun to watch while waiting for a table. For those who don't love seafood, they have options for you as well!
We love to go shark tooth hunting on this beach, especially at the county park. It is absolutely breathtaking at sunset, and the town offers so many cute shops and restaurants. The pier is fun to experience but can be crowded, so we definitely recommend going to the farther ends of the beach!
This is such a beautiful street to walk by in the French Quarter. It is perfectly in between The Battery and the famous Pineapple Fountain, and it's not a far walk from Market St.! We highly recommend taking a day to explore all of downtown's beautiful historic neighborhoods.
The Angel Oak on James Island is the largest Live Oak east of the Mississippi. There is so much history about this tree, and the park where it is located has more details about its origin. It is such a cute place to take pictures and just soak up the beauty of the Lowcountry.
The perfect place to take a walk on the waterfront, especially at sunset. We love taking in all of the old Charleston homes while enjoying the view.
This is such a fun experience for all ages! Learning the history of this carrier was so enlightening for both of us, and we loved touring it. They also offer ghost tours at night, which Grace has personally taken. Be prepared, as it is haunted, and you will experience things. Overall, we love this piece of history in Charleston!
Yet another beach we love to visit! Not as crowded as Folly but equally as beautiful. Here you can find sand dollars more than shark teeth, but the history of this island makes it even more special.
Yes...another beautiful beach. This beach, specifically, is known for its immense amount of driftwood. Such a pretty sight to see and definitely different from any other beach in South Carolina.
Fort Moultrie is rich in so much South Carolina history: read here for more details --> https://www.nps.gov/fosu/learn/historyculture/fort_moultrie.htm
An absolute Charleston staple. This is within walking distance of Market St. and is definitely something to see. It is also so much fun for the kiddos because they can play in the fountain on hot SC days!
We wanted to add this as it is just a beautiful part of Charleston to see. The views are amazing, and the landscaping is breathtaking. There are shops all around the island as well as restaurants...and of course, we couldn't forget, beaches.
