The date that started it all: We decided to take a chance on modern dating! We met on Bumble (a dating app) where the girl has to make the first move, meaning Megan had to send the initial "Hello" message. Alex and Megan messaged each other for two weeks with novel-like messages that would cover anything and everything you could imagine. Finally, we decided to take the chance and meet up with each other. Alex asked Megan to meet for a coffee at "All About Cha", a local coffee restaurant in Lubbock, TX. Megan showed up after taking a chance on a bold haircut, she got bangs! Right when she arrived, she pulled into the parking spot right in front of Alex, they looked at each other, gave each other a giddy full-faced smile, and then got out of the car to finally meet! They walked into the coffee shop, took a seat next to the window, and started talking. Hours had passed and every now and then Alex got up to go to the bathroom and Megan would have to shift in her seat and fan herself to hide the sweat not wanting to reveal how nervous she was for their date! 5 or 6 hours went by and the shop was starting to close, but we weren't ready to end our first date so Alex suggested we grab some pizza and beer! We headed over to "World of Beer" and started our dinner portion of the first date. There we talked about our goals and dreams of where we wanted to go, people we wanted to grow into, and who we loved and admired. We talked so much there that we weren't paying attention to the time and the restaurant announced they were closing, both of us were not ready to end our date so Megan took hold of the boldness the bangs gave her and invited Alex over to her house to watch a movie with her sister and her sisters boyfriend. Alex chose a horrific horror movie and thought it would be oh such a great idea for the first date. He chose well cause Megan ended up having to hold his hand to not get freaked out during the movie....nice movie pick there Alex! After the movie was over Megan walked Alex out so they could officially end their first date, as they were saying goodnight Alex pulled Megan in for a kiss and that was the best first date that started the best love story! Our love through many adventures: From that very first date, we knew this was different and a love that neither of us had ever had before. We took chances and shared experiences that made so many memories that made our love story unique! We had our first hike together in Palo Duro where Megan unknowingly had the flu, she got so sick coming back from hiking, Alex had to bring her to urgent care, take her to several different pharmacies and calm her down so she wouldn't yell at people cause she couldn't get her medicine. We were able to share a first trip that took us to Colorado Springs. There we were able to take our first train ride together, we got tickets to the Cog Railway and climbed Pikes Peak. We then went hiking through the Cheyanne Mountain Zoo where Alex made Megan's dreams of petting a Moose come true! She was only supposed to feed it... after feeding the moose her cracker she stole Alex's, taking away his chance to also feed the moose. Impulse took over after being told not to pet the moose, she stuck her hand through the fence and petted the nose of the moose then instantly started crying! Our next big adventure was the big move! Megan took a job in Maine and told Alex that they were moving to the north....this was after he asked that we don't move to anywhere cold...oops! We packed up our lives, threw the dogs in the car, and headed to our future in Maine! #Kesterso(o)nenough
