Question

Is the Balinese Wedding ceremony necessary to attend and what should I expect?

Answer

Attendance at the Balinese wedding ceremony is entirely optional; however, it offers a wonderful opportunity to experience a meaningful tradition of Balinese Hindu culture. The wedding ceremony will be from 11AM until 2PM. There will be Indonesian cuisine buffet and soft-drinks provided for lunch. Unfortunaly, we are unable to cater to dietary requirements for this occasion. We recommend arriving a little earlier so everyone can be seated before the ceremony begins.

Question

What should I wear on Balinese Ceremony?

Answer

Smart-casual attire is perfectly acceptable, as the ceremony will be held at a hotel rather than a temple. That said, it’s a wonderful opportunity to wear traditional Balinese attire if you wish. We also suggest footwear suitable for outdoor surfaces - wedges, block heels, flats, or loafers are great options as the wedding will be held both indoors and outdoors. Both rental and purchase options are available locally. For inspiration and in-store shopping, you may wish to check the following Instagram accounts beforehand: @hitabalikebaya – wide selection for both women and men (purchase) @umahkebayabali – options for women (purchase and rent) @zesthouseofkebaya – options for women (purchase) @zest_rent – higher-quality rental options for both women and men
