We first 'met' when we swiped right on each other on the dating app, Bumble. Colleen's first message to Jared included a joke about how he must have to duck when he walks through doors so that he doesn't hit his head. We went on several dates together including a Timberwolves game, cooking dinner, and trivia nights at Bad Weather Brewing. However, like many of these dating app relationships tend to do, things just kind of fizzled out and we stopped seeing each other. Afterwards, we both went on our fair share of bad dates but neither of us could stop thinking about the other and wondering why we weren't able to work things out. Fast forward a year later and Jared was scrolling through a different app, Snapchat, when he noticed that Colleen was on vacation in New York so that she could watch Big Ten basketball at Madison Square Garden. Jared sat there in disbelief, unable to believe that he had let the perfect woman get away from him. So he did what any good millennial would do; he used a smart phone app to send another message. This time, things went better. For over a year our love grew as we traveled together, adopted each other's disappointing sports teams, and formed relationships with each other's family and friends. Jared spent a full day cheering Colleen on as she ran a marathon and Colleen has watched more than a few freshman basketball games that Jared coaches. After over a year of this, Jared took Colleen to Northern Minnesota for what she thought was a romantic weekend away. What she didn't realize is that as they walked along the the beach, Jared had a diamond ring in his pocket (spoiler: she said yes). As if that wasn't enough, he also arranged for both of their families to secretly surprise Colleen and celebrate their engagement together! Since then we've bought a house, adopted a cat, and have fallen even further in love. We can't wait to spend the rest of our life together, and we're looking forward to you joining us for our big day!
