There are plenty of places to eat in and around downtown GR. We are big fans of Butcher’s Union, Condado Tacos, Tupelo Honey, and Electric Cheetah for dinner. Westside Social, SpeakEZ Lounge, and Morning Belle are great brunch options. If you’re interested in getting a taste of the local craft beer scene, you can head to New Holland, Founders, or Grand Rapids Brewing Co- which also offer some tasty food options as well. If you’re looking to get outside, you could check out the White Pine Trail which stretches for miles and starts just outside of GR. The John Ball Zoo is right around the corner from our house, and though we haven’t been yet, we hear its a great time.
For places to eat in downtown Grand Haven, we would recommend the Toasted Pickle for lunch or grab the best corn dog you’ll ever have from Pronto Pups. There are plenty of boutiques and beach shops to peruse as well if you are trying to limit your time out in the sun. You should also check out the Grand Armory for some tasty craft beer and might even find a few people in our wedding party working there.
Visit downtown Grand Haven and have a beach day at the State Park Beach. You can park downtown or by the YMCA for beach access; walk down the boardwalk, out on the pier, and to the beach.
The beach is also beautiful in Muskegon if a beach day is on your agenda. Check out the Deck for food and a cool outdoor restaurant with a beachy vibe.
American Dunes in Grand Haven is a course you might want to check out. Pigeon Creek and Oak Ridge are other local courses that offer good bang for your buck. There are plenty of other courses in the surrounding area if you're looking to play a round or two.
