Dubbed America’s Horse and Hunt Country Capital, Middleburg is a settlement dating back to 1728 when a fieldstone tavern was established on an old Native American trail by a cousin of George Washington. That tavern became the Red Fox Inn, which is still around today. The historic downtown is lined with boutiques, cafés and restaurants, and hosts the National Sporting Library & Museum, which is the nation’s leading resource on equestrian and outdoor pursuits. The town's narrow stone-walled lanes of the surrounding countryside take you past thoroughbred horses in green fields and to wineries, breweries, cideries, and a craft distillery. Middleburg is also home to the famous Salamander Resort, a 5* luxury resort and spa.

Loudon County Virginia has an extensive number of breweries, some of which make up the Loudon County Ale Trail. Many of the breweries have sweeping views and offer food and entertainment. Dirt Farm Brewery is really pretty and owned by the wedding venue. Also nearby is Bear Chase Brewery, which often has live music, amazing views, and is really popular so would recommend getting there on the earlier side.
