Cris and Gabby first laid eyes on each other in their 6th period middle school gym class in 2008. They became friends and Cris moved onto high school, he waited for Gabby to enter high school to finally make his move. Cris had kept his eye on Gabby and they sparked their friendship during her first year of high school. Soon after, on October 25, 2010, Cris was walking Gabby to her 6th period pottery class. He wrapped his arm around her and to be his... Little did she know she would become his forever.

Gabby and Cris were on a trip to celebrate their 9 year anniversary in Oahu, Hawaii. Cris planned a dinner that Gabby thought was going be a normal date celebrating their anniversary. Since they first started dating, the couple always enjoyed watching a beautiful sunset. Whether it be a sunset in Edmonds Beach or Phuket Beach, it was always the way they loved to begin their nights. With that, Cris knew he wanted to pop the question that night at sunset before dinner. As usual, Gabby was running fashionably late and repeatedly suggested that the sunset would be there tomorrow and they could watch it another day. Fortunately, Cris was persistent and they were able to leave on time and the couple walked to the beach. Cris was filled with emotion and nerves, as he knew with each step he was getting closer and closer to asking the woman of his dreams to marry him. The couple made it to the beach and even with time to spare before the sunset. Cris suggested that they take some pictures together since they were all dressed up and the sunset was beautiful, so he was able to whisper to a stranger “can you take a video of this please?” While they were posed for what Gabby thought was a picture, Cris slowly got down on one knee and said nervously "will you marry me?"
