While you're in town for our big day, take some time to experience one of Louisville’s most legendary landmarks — Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby! Whether you're a horse racing fan or just love a bit of history and Southern charm, it’s a must-see. Explore the Kentucky Derby Museum, take a tour of the storied racetrack, or catch live racing. It’s a fun and uniquely Louisville experience we think you'll love!
Located just minutes from downtown, NuLu (short for "New Louisville") is one of the trendiest and most vibrant neighborhoods. Known for its mix of modern energy and historic charm, NuLu is packed with unique boutiques, locally-owned restaurants, craft cocktail bars, and plenty of places to explore. While you're in town for the wedding, we highly recommend taking a stroll down East Market Street. You'll find everything from artisan shops to the Liquor Lab, where you can mix you own cocktails in a fun, interactive setting. And whatever you do, don't leave without stopping by our favorite ice cream spot, Louisville Cream. You haven't lived until you've tried their ice cream topped with blow-torched marshmallow cream - yes, it's just as amazing as it sounds.
Looking for a little adventure while you're in town? Check out the Louisville Mega Caverns — a massive underground wonder right beneath the city! This former limestone cavern offers everything from underground ziplining and ropes courses to guided tram tours and a walk-through history of the cavern’s fascinating past.
For a fun (and free!) activity, take a walk across the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge. It offers beautiful views of the river and skyline. The bridge connects Louisville to Indiana and is perfect for a scenic stroll, day or night!
Baseball fan or not, the Louisville Slugger Museum is a must-see! Snap a photo with the giant bat out front and take a quick tour to see how the iconic bats are made. It's a fun, uniquely Louisville experience - right in the heart of downtown!
You don't have to leave the city to experience the Kentucky Bourbon Trail! Louisville is home to several top distilleries like Angel's Envy, Old Forester, Rabbit Hole, and Michter's - all offering tours, tastings, and a taste of Kentucky's signature spirit. Cheers!
