Flight
Lake Como is easily accessible from the airports of Milan Malpensa (MXP), Milan Linate (LIN), Bergamo Orio Alserio (BGY), and Lugano Agno (LUG) using airlines like Delta, Emirates, JetBlue, Iberia, etc. We recommend you fly into one of the airports above arriving by Wednesday, 9/17/2025 to give yourselves a day to get acclimated to the time zone & jet lag since Lake Como is a six hour time difference from eastern standard time. We advise taking a taxi or hiring a private car from the airport as the public transport connection is not direct and could be complicated in the evening/early morning. A taxi is about a 40 minute drive from Milan Malpensa/ MXP to Lake Como & is approximately 110 euros. The other option is to book a car in advance. This will be the most expensive with one way trips to Lake Como from Milan and vice versa costing up to 150 euros. We recommend this option if you are traveling with several people/ a group. For any additional questions/ support booking a private car for transfers to and from the airport, please feel free to contact our wedding planner, Mara Cirillo. Her WhatsApp number is +39 39 392 089 05 and her email is info@whitenotes.com.
Travel Note
The easiest and main airport to fly into is Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). There are several train options for transportation from the main airports to Lake Como which we've included below. Public transportation (from Malpensa/MXP): Malpensa Express is the fastest way to get to Como. To reach Como from Milan-Malpensa Airport, take the Malpensa Express (departing from both terminals) to Milan and get off at Saronno (after about 20 minutes). At Saronno train station, take the train from Milano Cadorna to Como Lago (40 minutes). The price of the trip including both routes is €11 (€8 for Malpensa Express and €3 for the Saronno–Como route, operated by Trenord). Public transportation (from Orio Al Serio/BGY): One of the easiest ways to get to Como from Orio al Serio Airport is to first take one of the shuttle services just outside the airport to Milan Central Station (1 hour ride). Then, from there, take the train to Como S. Giovanni station (40 minutes). The price of the trip including both routes is €15 (€10 for the shuttle and €5 for the Milan–Como route). Public transportation (from Milano Linate/LIN): The easiest way to get to Como from Milan-Linate Airport is to first take one of the shuttle services just outside the airport to Milan Central Station (30-minute ride). Then, from there, take the train to Como S. Giovanni station (40 minutes). The price of the trip including both routes is €10 (€5 for the shuttle and €5 for the Milan–Como route).

Travel Note
Cernobbio is a small city located northwest of Como, nestled between Mount Bisbino and Lake Como. Cernobbio features a quaint old town that culminates in a wide lakefront promenade that can be reached in just 15 minutes by boat from the city of Como, and where there are bars, restaurants and even a lido! Our venue, Villa Pizzo, is halfway between Moltrasio and Cernobbio, & is one of the oldest manor houses on Lake Como. It takes its name from the rocky spur on which it stands: in the regional dialect Piz means point or projection. Villa Pizzo and all the annexed buildings are fully visible only from the lake. It all began in 1435 when Giovanni Mugiasca, a merchant from Como, bought plots of land in the Pizzo area. They were very fertile soils, with lush olive trees and vineyards. Today Villa Pizzo is the sum of all those who have passed through it, who have loved it and laboured for it. Visiting Pizzo nowadays means basking in its rich history.
