Travel

We are very thankful that our family and friends are willing to travel to celebrate with us! Please contact either of us if you have more questions about travel :)

Flight

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)

IAH is the larger of the two airports with flight options for almost all major airlines, especially United. It is currently under some pretty extensive construction which can make navigation difficult, but we will update as the day gets closer! This airport is about 75 miles away from the venue on Galveston Island, which on an average day is roughly 1.5 hours of travel through downtown Houston. There are no public transportation options from the airport but there are shuttles to the island, Ubers, and rental cars to choose from.

Flight

William P. Hobby Airport (HOBBY)

HOBBY is much smaller than IAH, but it is the primary airport that Southwest flies into. They just announced a terminal expansion project, so we will keep you updated on potential delays that may cause on the ground. It is on the south side of Houston, making it roughly 45 miles away from the venue and less than an hour drive through the suburbs and oil country. There are no public transportation options from the airport but there are shuttles to the island, Ubers, and rental cars to choose from.

The Hopper App tracks flight pricing to provide the best deals for tickets. We would recommend checking it out to save on the trip!

Rideshare Information

While there are Rideshare companies which service the island, they are not particularly consistent late in the evening. We would recommend having access to a rental car or other means of transportation after the wedding. Galveston is known for street-legal rented golf carts as well as bicycle carts which could be a low-cost alternative for those too young to get a rental car!
