Max and Gabi’s story started in Champaign in September of 2018. Introduced by a mutual friend, the night they met included laughter, a little chaos, and even a dash of sriracha (if you know, you know). It was the start of everything. They spent the semester inviting each other to date events and getting to know each other until they made it official ringing in the 2019 new year. In July of 2025, after six and a half years together, Max proposed to Gabi in their favorite place—the Bleck Cottage on Pine Lake, WI. Out on a canoe, Gabi suddenly felt it jolt; when she turned around, Max was on one knee. He then magically conjured a bottle of champagne and two flutes, and they toasted as the wind carried them across the lake to the Mickster's—where an impromptu engagement party awaited. They are so excited to tie the knot and can't wait to celebrate surrounded by their favorite people.
