Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into either Heraklion International Airport (HER) or Chain International Airport (CHQ). - Heraklion (HER): Approximately 1 hour and 15 mins from Agreco Farms. -Chania (CHQ): Approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from Agreco Farms. Both airports offer car rentals, taxis, bus, and private transfer options, but we highly recommend renting a car during your stay. It makes getting around Crete much easier and allow you to explore nearby beaches, villages, and attractions at your own pace. Driving in Crete is very straightforward and similar to driving in the U.S. Cars drive on the right hand side of the road and traffic rules are easy to follow. Most road signs in both Greek and English, making navigation simple. While taxis are available, they can become very expensive if you plan to visit multiple locations on the island. If you're spending any time eon the mainland in Athens, Uber works great there, but unfortunately, Uber is not available on the island of Crete.

Do I need a visa to travel to Greece?

Answer

No, most guests will not need a visa to attend the wedding. US Citizens, Colombian Citizens, Mexican Citizens, Irish Citizens, UK Citizens, and UAE passport holders can travel to Greece visa-free for up to 90 days. Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date.

What's the weather like in Crete in May?

May is one of the best months to visit Crete! You can expect warm, sunny days and comfortable evenings: • Average daytime highs: Around 75–80°F (24–27°C) • Evenings: Cooler, around 60–65°F (15–18°C) • Rain: Very little — May is generally dry and pleasant It’s perfect weather for enjoying the beaches, exploring the island, and celebrating outdoors. We recommend bringing light, breathable clothing for the day and a light wrap or jacket for cooler evenings.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! Our wedding in Greece will be a very formal, black-tie celebration. We kindly ask that the guests dress in elegant evening attire. Women are encouraged to wear floor length gowns or formal evening dresses. Men are encouraged to wear tuxedos or formal suits. The wedding venue, Agreco Farms, is outdoors, so we also recommend comfortable formal shoes suitable for walking on stone and grass pathways.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Agreco Farms offers on-site parking for guests attending the ceremony and reception. The venue has a dedicated parking area that is free of charge and just a short walk from the main event space. For your convenience, we'll also be sharing details about shuttle options closer to the wedding date for guests staying in Rethymno who prefer not to drive.
