Our favorite ice cream place. Originally from Ohio, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams splendidly made its way to Nashville. They have super interesting flavors, like Goat Cheese & Red Cherries and Wildberry Lavender (both flavors that we highly recommend).
We went here on Gabe's first visit, and it was both of our first times trying this spunky taco place. One of the best taco places we've been to! Try the tacos, plantains, and eloté. Their agua frescas are refreshing in the summer, too. It's a cash-only establishment, just FYI. If you look carefully, you'll see Guy Fieri's face on one of the walls (a stop on his Diners, Drives, and Dives show).
A fascinating attraction for Greek scholars, history buffs, and those trained in basic assumptions of western thought, the Parthenon is an actual 1:1 replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. You can walk the grounds and exterior free of charge, but admission inside to the exhibit where the giant Athena statue resides does have a cost of $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for kids (4-17).
This was our first stop on Gabe's first visit, and also where he proposed! I love going to farmer's markets, and this one is a good size for wandering around for a couple hours. The market is located in a great spot- there's a park next to it, and the state capitol across the street (go to that, too! ).
