Things To Do

Nicole here! Below are some things to do around Nashville (mostly places to eat) that Gabe and I have loved over our three years of visiting and touristing together.
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams

2312 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37204
, (615) 292-7794

Our favorite ice cream place. Originally from Ohio, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams splendidly made its way to Nashville. They have super interesting flavors, like Goat Cheese & Red Cherries and Wildberry Lavender (both flavors that we highly recommend).

Five Daughters Bakery 12th South

Five Daughters Bakery 12th South

1110 Caruthers Avenue, Nashville, TN 37204
, (615) 490-6554

Love croissants AND donuts? Look no further- this Nashville-based donut shop sells CROnuts- the heavenly combo.

Mas Tacos Por Favor

Mas Tacos Por Favor

732 Mcferrin Avenue, Nashville, TN 37206
, (615) 543-6271

We went here on Gabe's first visit, and it was both of our first times trying this spunky taco place. One of the best taco places we've been to! Try the tacos, plantains, and eloté. Their agua frescas are refreshing in the summer, too. It's a cash-only establishment, just FYI. If you look carefully, you'll see Guy Fieri's face on one of the walls (a stop on his Diners, Drives, and Dives show).

The Parthenon

The Parthenon

2500 West End Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203
, (615) 862-8431

A fascinating attraction for Greek scholars, history buffs, and those trained in basic assumptions of western thought, the Parthenon is an actual 1:1 replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. You can walk the grounds and exterior free of charge, but admission inside to the exhibit where the giant Athena statue resides does have a cost of $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for kids (4-17).

Centennial Park, Nashville

Centennial Park, Nashville

2500 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203, Nashville, TN 37203

We stopped here on Gabe's first visit- it is a huge park AND then there's the Parthenon.. to-scale. A HUGE Athena is waiting for you to say hi inside, too.

Broadway

Broadway

Broadway, Nashville, TN

This is the iconic street of Nashville- live music, cowboy boots, and a LOT of people. Worth at least driving through!

Nashville Farmers' Market

Nashville Farmers' Market

900 Rosa L Parks Boulevard, Nashville, TN 37208
, (615) 880-2001

This was our first stop on Gabe's first visit, and also where he proposed! I love going to farmer's markets, and this one is a good size for wandering around for a couple hours. The market is located in a great spot- there's a park next to it, and the state capitol across the street (go to that, too! ).

AVO

AVO

3 City Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209
, (615) 329-2377

For all my vegans/plant-based eaters, this place is for you. I'm not vegan/plant-based, but this is my favorite place for this kind of lifestyle! Their kombucha is on-tap, and their salads and are 10/10.

Pepperfire Hot Chicken

Pepperfire Hot Chicken

1000 Gallatin Avenue, Nashville, TN 37206
, (615) 582-4824

We've gone here for "Nashville Hot Chicken." The hot chicken is great, especially with a side of FRIED grilled cheese and sautéed apples. Wow.

For all the days along the way
