Gabe and Dani met at Florida International University in their Undergraduate English 1102 class. Dani didn’t pay Gabe much mind at first, but after a few weeks, something peaked her interest. From then on, the two have been inseparable. After finding out about the many mutual friends and potentially having run-ins with each other at a party or two, fate finally introduced them at the perfect moment. Now, here they are today!

Alas, like most girlfriends, Dani had been dropping hints that she wanted to take the relationship up a notch. Marriage was on her mind. Gabe too had the same idea, but he had to wait for the perfect moment. Once COVID restrictions loosened up, Gabe took Dani to Washington D.C. for her first time. They decided to visit the Hillwood Estate. Dani wanted to explore the gardens, but Gabe needed a drink (or two). After a tour of the Estate and a decent amount of wine, Dani finally got the chance to obliviously peruse the gardens while Gabe scoped out the perfect spot to ask the looming question. Once he found said spot, he sat Dani down and said all the beautiful things a loving boyfriend would say to their soon-to-be fiancé, but Dani was fixated on a certain square-shaped bulge in Gabe’s pocket she hadn’t noticed before. At that moment, she new what was going to happen and Gabe noticed that she noticed due to her now complete silent but excited facial expressions. Taking that as a sign to wrap up the monologue, Gabe asked the question and Dani responded with a resounding YES!!!
