When planning your trip to the beautiful Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area for our wedding, there are two main airports you can consider depending on your preferences and travel needs. Miami International Airport (MIA): Located in Miami, this is the primary airport serving the area. It is the largest and busiest airport in the region, offering numerous domestic and international flights. MIA provides a wide range of airlines and flight options, making it a convenient choice for most travelers. The airport is approximately 45 minutes (with traffic) to the Diplomat Beach Resort, 35 minutes to Miami Beach, and 20 minutes to Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL): Situated in Fort Lauderdale, this airport serves as an alternative to Miami International Airport. FLL is known for its ease of navigation, shorter lines, and generally less congestion compared to MIA. It offers a variety of domestic and international flights and is located approximately 24 minutes from the Diplomat, 50 minutes from Miami Beach and and 45 minutes from Downtown Miami and Coconut Grove.
