In 2018, our paths crossed by way of a dear friend at Booker T. Washington Park on Preston in Charlottesville. It was ships passing in the night, sharing a wholesome evening at the park with some friends, communing over the state of the world. Two years later, as COVID-19 crashed upon the shores of the United States, we met again, by way of the same friend at the same park after Gabby had just returned from her journey to Thailand. Zack was sitting under the Mulberry Tree reading his new book, Love in the Time of Cholera, when he saw Gabby coming down the hill. We shared stories, laughs and played music under the bold and beautiful Ivy-covered Mulberry Tree at the top of the hill looking out over the park. We jammed out to songs like Banana Pancakes and Gone by Jack Johnson. From there, we got connected through the interwebs and the spark ignited quickly with a date to Biscuit Run Park. On our first walk in the woods, we found connection through deep conversation and awe of Mother Earth. When Zack asked Gabby if she wanted to go to the Natural Food store one day soon, that's when she knew the stars were aligning. While traversing the park, we were greeted with two deer traipsing through the forest, signaling a message from cherished ancestors that we were on the right path. We quickly found ourselves spending our days together, became a COVID pod and the rest is history. :-)
