11:11

1 Corinthians 13:11-13

"When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." For a year before meeting Alexander, Lauren noticed something unusual—she kept seeing the number 11 everywhere. Whether it was a grocery total of $11.11, the clock striking 11:11, or other subtle signs, the number seemed to follow her. At the time, Lauren was growing in her faith and would often ask herself, “God, what are You trying to tell me?” While she found the occurrences strange, they were always accompanied by a sense of peace—a peace that, as she would later discover, would become a defining characteristic of her relationship with Alexander. When Lauren and Alexander met, they both quickly noticed something different about their connection. They described it as an unshakable sense of calm—“When we are together, we both feel at peace. With life and ourselves.” Early in their relationship, while getting to know each other, Alexander mentioned that his birthday was July 11th. Lauren’s curiosity piqued, but she kept her angel story to herself. Then, Alexander casually shared that he was born at exactly 11:11 a.m. Lauren, shocked, knew that this was it. That moment only deepened her belief that God was at work in their lives. After years of trials and challenges, Lauren knew God would provide, and Alexander’s presence in her life was the clearest sign of that promise. In the relatively short time they’ve been together, Lauren and Alexander have faced challenges that tested their faith, hope, and love. From health diagnoses, to work stresses, to the passing of a family member, the couple has navigated life's hardships as a team. Alex's ability to manage stressful situations with calmness and composure solidifies Lauren’s trust and strengthens their bond. Lauren's ability to persevere and find joy in new experiences helps Alex step slightly outside his comfort zone. Difficult moments and life's beautiful ones have shown them that God’s grace and their love for each other grow strongest in difficult times. God’s hand has been evident throughout their relationship, far beyond the 11:11 sign. Together, they’ve built a faith-based community through their church, committed to prayer, and made decisions with God at the center. Their shared faith has strengthened their relationship as a couple and deepened their individual walks with the Lord. As Lauren and Alexander prepare for marriage, they hold tightly to the words of 1 Corinthians 13:11-13: “And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” They see their love as a gift from God, a reflection of His faithfulness, and the foundation on which they’ll build their future together.
