Minnewaska State Park Preserve

Minnewaska State Park Preserve

, (845) 255-0752

I definitely suggest checking out this state park. Megan and I go hiking here a lot and there are some beautiful scenery. I'd suggest the Gertrude's Nose hike (directions found here, picture found above, http://hikethehudsonvalley.com/minnewaska-ii-gertrudes-nose/) however if you're not up for a long hike theres plenty of shorter hikes and swimming (brave the cold!) in the area.

See the waterfall of which the town is named after. Located within a 2 minute drive from the ceremony location, you can swim and cliff jump around this waterfall. Go enjoy the water after the ceremony while we're taking pictures

Kaaterskill Falls

Site of many of the Hudson Valley School paintings come swim underneath this amazing waterfall. Mild, short hike and an hour drive to this amazing spot.

Woodstock

Woodstock

Woodstock, NY

While the Woodstock festival happened 60 miles away in Bethel, this quaint town definitely epitomizes the vibe. A small, walkable town has plenty of local dining and shopping offerings to fill an afternoon. Hiking on Lookout Mountain and swimming in the local river can fill the rest of your day in the area.

New Paltz

New Paltz

New Paltz, NY 12561

Like Woodstock, this small town has a very unique upstate vibe. Plenty of great food, beer, and shopping in the area. Depending upon the season, plenty of farmers markets and farms in the area offer local foods from apples to honey.
