Hallie and Dylan first met in 2018 in anatomy one class. Naturally, Dylan was late to the first day and assigned to a group across the room. Dylan noticed Hallie first as the one always smiling and greeting everyone. It was love at first sight, and Dylan even called two of his future groomsmen that day to tell them he was going to marry her. Early on, Hallie’s lab partner dropped the class and Dylan was not the only one to notice. As a girl got up to escape her table, Dylan dove across the room, sliding and crashing in to Hallie to get the spot. Asking if he could sit there, Hallie replied with, “It would be awkward if I said no now.” As the class went on, Hallie and Dylan got to know each other more, getting mentions from peers who were surprised that they didn’t already know each other. Finally, with limited luck on asking Hallie out at the end of the semester, Dylan had to take anatomy two with the hope he would be assigned to Hallie’s class. During the break before the new semester, Hallie mentioned she had not left the country. Concocting a plan with some help from his parents, Dan and Karen, Dylan invited her on a winter trip to Belize. To mostly Dylan’s surprise, it actually happened and the two had their first date together in Caye Caulker, Belize. They explored the country and part of Guatemala over the holiday break to return and meet Hallie’s parents, Stacy and Patti. After the break ended, Dylan and Hallie took anatomy two together and even started to see each other more often on campus. Weekly dinner dates and weekends out with friends the two became much more serious with their relationship. Hallie even brought Dylan home to work cows on her family ranch. Something he had no idea how to do to Stacy’s disappointment. When COVID hit and school went online, they escaped to Dylan’s family lake cabin in Minnesota. Making it through 5 months in quarantine together, the two moved in to their first apartment in Fargo. After Dylan’s graduation, he moved out to Missoula, Montana to start work early as a sheriff’s deputy. The two would meet every couple months and on one trip at the Howler’s Inn, a wolf sanctuary in Belgrade, Montana, Dylan had a special plan. They took a helicopter flight over the Madison River and landed on a cliffside. The only thing either of them remember from that flight was the 40 mile per hour wind which ripped through the valley. However, when they returned, Hallie had a ring on her finger. Shortly after, Hallie moved to Missoula and started working at St. Patrick’s Hospital as an RN. They bought their first house together in May of 2022 and have been navigating adulthood ever since.
