Dear Friends and Family, It is with a heavy heart that we have officially made the call to postpone our wedding weekend celebration. So many changes have continued to happen and it is in the best interest for all that we reschedule to a date that we can truly all celebrate the right way! With that being said, the date we are working towards is October 23rd, 2020, (with a backup date of April 2nd 2021). We will continue to update you as we move forward. Giant virtual hugs to you all and we will be saving your spot on the dance floor! Update: October 23rd 2020 and April 2nd 2021 are both no longer viable dates. We will continue to update.

Dan and Funke met at a Wicker Fest party in Chicago thrown by Dan's friend from University of Michigan, David Reuben. Funke was there because one her friends who went to Michigan State just so happened to be friends with Reuben's roomate. None of these details are relevant. Lets just say Dan was so immediately enamoured by Funke he spent the whole day supplying her and her friend Tiffany with drinks, and then got her to give him her number by saying he was going to adopt a dog the next day, and asking if she wanted to go help him pick out a dog. This was summer of 2015. We will never know if this was the truth or a pick-up line but Dan did not even go to the adoption center the following day and instead ended up asking Funke out on a date. In fact Dan did not end up getting said dog until Funke was on holiday in Nigeria for Christmas many months later, giving her the ultimate surprise to come back to...and that is how they ended up with the wild animal also known as their dog Sherman!
