Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Fungai Mumba and Christopher Ramirez
Meet the amazing friends and family who are part of our bridal party! We are beyond thankful for each of them, not only for being such an important part of our lives but also for making the time to be with us on our special day, traveling all the way to Zambia to celebrate. Their love, support, and presence mean the world to us. In Zambia, we don’t just call them friends and family—we call them fam. We couldn’t imagine celebrating without them by our side!

Marian Chitoma

Matron of Honor

My sister is not just my older sibling; she’s been a constant source of love, guidance, and strength in my life. Though we were separated for 13 years, the past 10 years of getting to know each other again have been incredibly special. Despite the time apart, she’s always been there for me, encouraging me to reach for my dreams and reminding me to do what’s best for myself. Her wisdom has shaped who I am today, and through her, I’ve learned so much about our culture, life, and the importance of staying true to myself. Beyond all the laughter and good times we’ve shared, her unwavering support and belief in me has meant more than words can express. I’m so incredibly grateful to have her by my side as I start this new chapter.

Dante

Man of Honor

Dante and Fungai met in 2015 during their freshman year at Thomas university. Fungai’s witty attitude and Dante’s sassy comebacks allowed them to bond as friends shortly after meeting. Though Dante didn't come back to Thomas university the following year they remained close, with many phone calls and visits to see each other for important moments.

Jon

Best Man

Jon and Chris met in 2013 at Nova Southeastern University during freshman year. The friendship started off rocky but both men found trust in each other during trying times in school. Jon and Chris' bond grew when both of them joined The Omega Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi and eventually lead the organization in succession during one of its most difficult periods. He remains one of Chris' closest friends and counselors in life and business as the two have built an everlasting friendship.

Ari

Maid of Honor

Ari and Fungai met in 2017 at Thomas university. Ari was Fungai's downstairs neighbor at the time. Fungai and Ari’s friendship blossomed the following year when they decided to become roommates and move off campus. When Fungai’s mom was diagnosed with cancer Ari stepped up as her best friend and allowed her to have the space to cry and share how she was feeling. Life wouldn't be the same without her in it.

Dwayne

Groomsman

Dwayne and Chris' friendship is old as Chris himself. As the eldest cousin, Dwayne looked out for his youngest cousin during his youth. Unknowingly serving as one of Chris' role models growing up alongside their grandfather, the two share similar mannerism, intelligence, and obliviousness (according to their partners). No matter how much time passes the two are always in each other's corner against the world. At least until Fungai calls Dwayne about a pop culture reference that Chris does not know!

Molly

Bridesmaid

Molly and Fungai met in 2008 at Fort Mill middle school. Both Fungai and Molly were part of the Fort Mill middle school band where their friendship swiftly blossomed. Molly and Fungai remained friends throughout high school, and college. So their lives may not always be on the same path their friendship has remained stronger than ever, with annual couples trips and phone calls to keep them close.

Andres

Groomsman

Andres and Chris met in 2014 at Nova Southeastern University. They originally each other the famous "table" (if you know you know). Chris and Andres developed a friendship while Chris served as President of Alpha Kappa Psi. Andres remains one of the most diligent and disciplined people that Chris knows. In many ways, he has been both a role model, counselor, and friend in difficult times, always willing to lend and ear and give advice. They may not seem like friends when they discuss politics, but they both know its all love.

Allie

Bridesmaid

Allie and Fungai met in 2017 through her boyfriend at the time (now husband) Lucas. Allie's caring spirit and chill vibes opened up a space for them to get to know each other as girls. Within the first year of the meeting Both would take the time out to come see each other in Tallahassee or Thomasville. Once fungai moved to Tallahassee FL it allowed them an opportunity to get to See each other frequently. Fungai couldn't imagine what life would be like if her and Allie had not become friends.

Lucas

Groomsman

Lucas and Chris met in 2020 through Fungai. It didn't take long for their friendship to form as the both of them shared interests in anime, fermentation, and almighty science. The two are official couple brothers and remain favored picks in the Battle of Sexes board game against their partners. Lucas has shown himself to be one of the most carefree and genuine people that Chris has met. His straightforward approach to life is inspiring, and his honesty as person has squarely place placed as one of Chris' most trusted friends.

Cierra

Bridesmaid

Cierra and Fungai met in 2019 when Fungai moved to Tallahassee FL to pursue her master’s degree. Their love for music and volunteering allowed them to create a bond as friends outside of the organization they were volunteering for. Cierra also helped introduce Fungai to many of her Tallahassee friends that she considers her second family.

Konan

Groomsman

Konan and Chris met in 2013 at Nova Southeastern University. Most people don't know this but Konan is actually the first person Chris met during the campus tour for admitted students. Both got along well and Konan was the literal bridge to a host of lifelong friendships they share with classmates from college. He is far and away one of the funniest people Chris knows (aside from his future wife) and continues to be one of his most caring and loyal friends. Konan still has a knack for brightening troubled spirits, even if all he says is "You'll be aight tho."

Victor

Groomsman

Victor and Chris met in 2014 at Nova Southeastern University. Their friendship started when they both rushed Alpha Kappa Psi and became pledge class brothers. The two regularly watched each others backs and continued to check in with each other during and after college. Victor's uncompromising altruistic attitude towards improving the world has regularly served as an inspiration for Chris. Victor remains one of Chris' closest friends and a model person worth emulating.

LiToyia

Bridesmaid

LiToyia and Fungai met in 2019 through her friend Cierra. LiToyia's free spirit and Fungai's can do attitude allowed them to easily bond as friends. The LiToyia moved across the country to sunny California and Fungai travels for work whenever they're back in the same room it's like nothing has changed. Just the same two girls that met back in 2019.
