Answer

Click on the RSVP tab and enter your name.

Question

What date should I RSVP by?

Answer

PLEASE HAVE YOUR RSVP IN NO LATER THAN JULY 1ST 2025. THAT IS 13 WEEKS (3 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT)

Question

DO I NEED A PASSPORT??

Answer

Yes, you do need a passport to travel to Zambia. In addition to a valid passport, American citizens will also need a visa to enter the country. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your planned stay, and it should have at least two blank pages for the visa and entry/exit stamps.

Question

Do I need a visa?

Answer

Yes, American citizens need a visa to enter Zambia. They can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport or apply for an e-visa online before their trip. The cost is typically between $25 and $50 USD, and they accept both cash and card. However, we recommend having cash on hand in case the network is down and cards cannot be processed. You will also need to provide an address for your accommodation. Once you RSVP, we can provide you with that information to have ready when checking in.

Question

Which airport do I fly into?

Answer

Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (LUN)

Question

WHY DO AFRICANS THROW MONEY AT WEDDINGS?

Answer

Originated by the Yoruba people in Nigeria's Southwest, money spraying symbolizes a showering of happiness, good fortune, and the guest's affection for the couple. This is not required but we highly encourage you to participate in the fun. A conservative amount to bring with you would be $20 in single bills as there are different portions of the proceedings where money throwing is allowed. The Matron will notify the guests when they are permitted to throw money.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Yes, feel free to bring a plus one! This is a perfect trip for anyone who hasn't traveled outside of the U.S.

Question

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Answer

Yes, you can bring your children on the trip, but please keep in mind that the wedding day will be child-free. We will have someone available to watch the kids for those who bring them. If you plan to bring your children, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements for their care on the night of the wedding.

Question

What to wear at the wedding?

Answer

For our wedding, we kindly request that everyone wear formal attire. Ladies, please consider bringing some sandals to give your feet a break on the dance floor!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

October in Zambia is typically hot and dry, with temperatures ranging from 77°F to 95°F (25°C to 35°C). It’s a great time to visit for safaris, as the dry weather makes it easier to spot wildlife near water sources. While rain is rare, the heat can be intense during the day, so we recommend light, breathable clothing. Evenings can be cooler, so a light jacket or sweater might be useful.

Question

How To Report Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

Answer

If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, please email the Bride or Groom at Fungai.Mumba@gmail.com and Christopher.ramirez0575@gmail.com. The Bride and Groom shall provide a list of allergy and dietary restrictions to the event vendor. The food service for the event is buffet style, but a separate plate can be set aside for those with dietary restrictions.

Question

Tips to Find the Best Deals on Flights

Answer

Book Early: The earlier you book, the better your chances of finding lower prices. Aim to book 6-9 months in advance for the best deals. Use Fare Comparison Websites: Websites like Skyscanner, Google Flights, and Kayak can help you compare prices across multiple airlines and find the most affordable options. Flexible Dates: If your travel dates are flexible, use fare comparison tools to check for cheaper flights on alternative dates. Watch for Deals: Airlines occasionally release sales, especially during certain seasons (like around Black Friday or special promotions in the spring), so keep an eye out for discounts. Consider Stopovers: Flights with one or two stopovers may be cheaper than direct flights. However, make sure you have enough layover time to avoid stress with connections. Check for Package Deals: If you’re booking accommodations or tours in Zambia, some travel agencies offer package deals that include flights. These may sometimes be more affordable than booking flights and hotels separately.

Question

Do I need to Find my Own transportation?

Answer

To make your travel around Lusaka and to the wedding venue as easy and convenient as possible, we’ve arranged for mini-busses to help with transportation. Here’s what you need to know: Mini-Busses for Wedding Transportation We’ll have mini-busses available for the following transportation needs: Airport Shuttle: To and from Lusaka International Airport. You can simply hop on a mini-bus when you arrive, and we’ll ensure everyone gets to their accommodation safely. Wedding Venue: We’ll provide transportation to and from the wedding venue so you don’t have to worry about navigating unfamiliar roads. Excursions: For any planned excursions (like safaris or tours), the mini-busses will be available to take you and your fellow guests to these activities. These mini-busses are a great option for getting around comfortably and without stress. We’ll have a schedule in place, so you won’t have to worry about how to get to any of the events. Option to Rent a Car If you prefer more flexibility or want to explore Zambia at your own pace, you are more than welcome to rent a car. There are plenty of rental options available in Lusaka, and driving around Zambia can be a wonderful way to see more of the country if you choose to do so. Keep in mind that you’ll need an International Driver’s Permit (IDP) along with your U.S. driver’s license to drive in Zambia.

Question

Do we need travel insurance?

Answer

Yes, we advise everyone to have travel insurance for your trip. It's obviously a personal choice but with the medical system in Zambia being privatized, so it could be costly if you were to unfortunately need it.

Question

Do I need to have travel vaccines and take Malaria tablets?

Answer

Vaccines are not a requirement to enter Zambia, they are up to you. Covid passes may be asked for, so its advisable to carry it with you. Malaria preventative tablets are recommended. You can visit a travel clinic and get a prescription or contact your GP. Please be aware that it is usually recommended to start the tablets before you depart for your trip, so you might not want to leave it last minute.
