Minca, Colombia is a small village in the hills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s a short drive of about 30 minutes from coastal Santa Marta. It has some epic views, beautiful waterfalls, coffee and cacao farms, and just being surrounded by nature up there is unforgettable. Visit the Museo del Cacao de Minca to learn all about cacao and making chocolate. Visit Finca Victoria a coffee farm thats been running on the same equipment and powered by water since 1892. You can take a tour there in English or Spanish for a small price and grab some delicious coffee to bring home! Hike to the waterfall Marinka and the Pozo Azul cascades. Take a day trip to Tayrona National Park and spend the day hanging out at some of Santa Martas most beautiful beaches. Playa Cristal is one of the most beautiful beaches in Santa Marta and its surroundings make is even more breathtaking. Parque de los novios is a plaza right in the heart of downtown Santa Marta. If you want to do some shopping for souvenirs this park is full of vendors selling their items. (You’ll want to bring peso’s with you). At night is when the fun starts to happen around this city square. Live music and performances filling the streets, trendy local restaurants to sit down and have a good meal, and fun bars to have a few drinks and enjoy the entertainment going on all around you.
