I have attached a link below that explains the different types of traditions Pakistani weddings hold! https://www.libasejamila.com/pakistani-wedding/ Here is a summary: Dholki Tradition: a pre wedding celebration which is all about music and dancing. Mayun Tradition: is celebrated before the mehndi and is when the bride gets is beautified with oil and 'uptan' Mehndi/henna Tradition: is the most awaited and joyous function that everyone enjoys! This is a form of body art that signifies blessings, love, joy, and luck. Nikkah Tradition: is the signing of the marriage contract. Baraat Tradition: is the wedding event arranged by the Bride’s family. Rukhsati Tradition: is where the bride is given away by her parents. Valima Tradition: is a reception arranged by the Groom’s family in celebration of the newly wedded couple (will take place in Baltimore later in the year)
Red is traditionally worn by the bride, so try to avoid wearing this color! :) Red symbolizes many things, such as love and passion!
This is definitely a question many of you ladies may be thinking! As this is a wedding, any form of formal wear is greatly appreciated! However, I am sure many are considering the option of wearing traditional Pakistani wear. There are many different styles of traditional wear! Here are a few popular ones: ANARKALI (similar to a maxi dress with pants), LEHENGA (long skirt with long or short blouse), GHARARA (fitted pants from the waist to the knees and then a large skirt-like flare with a long or short blouse), SHARARA (similar to very large bell-bottom pants with a long or short blouse), SHALWAR KAMEEZ (medium-long top and pants), and SARI (wrapped cloth that drapes over one shoulder with a blouse). All outfits above, except a sari, are worn with a DUPATTA (a long scarf). THIS IS A CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS CEREMONY. PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS THOUGHTFULLY AND DRESS MODESTLY.

For those of you attending the Dholki/Mehndi event, there will be a roundtrip shuttle service provided at a specific time (TBA) that will bring you to and from the event to the hotel. For those of you wanting to explore Newport Beach area, you do not need transportation, as everything is within walking distance or within Uber/Lyft distance. For those of you who wanting to explore LA/SD/OC without any time restrictions, transportation will be ideal. The airport has many attractive car rental sites, as well as areas around the hotel (total of 20 car rental sites within this 5 mile radius).
Newport Beach has mild weather, therefore summers here are the best! Temperatures will range between 49 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit, rarely dipping below 42 or rising above 87. The beaches run a little chilly at night, so I would bring a warm sweater. Please bring sunblock and drink plenty of water as the heat in California is generally dry.
Southern California is notoriously known for its traffic, with peak traffic time at 7-9am and 4-6pm. If you are driving, please give yourself plenty of time to get to places. Because of this traffic, the shuttle service, for those of you attending the Dholki/Mehndi event, will depart from the hotel at a very specific time (TBA), so please make sure to be in the hotel lobby on time to prevent any further delays. Parking can be tedious by the beach, especially during summer months, however it is not impossible (not New York, Chicago, or LA). Tons of people like to arrive to the beach mid day to really soak up the sun, so be sure to work around that if time is of the essence. In general, there are many pay by space and free parking that you can look for.
