How We Met

Getting Down to Business

David and Evelyn met in March 2016 at a networking event in Uptown Whittier. They talked about life as entrepreneurs and the value of their time and effort as business owners. Evelyn was intrigued that David made her feel like he could teach her a lil' something and that's where the spark began. It wasn't until early Fall when they would actually spend a few hours together. In October, after Evelyn had spent an evening out with her cousins, she had decided to call David since he'd been asking her out. She said, "if this guy comes to pick me up, I'm going to marry him..." and so it is. The two began to invest as much time together as possible. David was always understanding of Evelyn's responsibilities as a mother and supported her devotion motherhood. He claims that he fell in love with Anaiah before he fell in love with Evelyn!

The Proposal

En el Mar...

On a sunny day in May, David and Evelyn had just arrived at the Villa Del Palmar resort in Loreto. It was their second time visiting this magical place after David was invited back as a celebrity chef. They decided to head out to explore a private cove accessible only by kayak. David was full of intention and Evelyn had no idea she would head back to shore as a Future Mrs. The scene was so picturesque that David asked Evelyn to stand upon a rock and gaze into the ocean. Evelyn kept her pose while David was preparing to get down on one knee. She wondered why he was taking so long to snap a good picture but she just stood still anyway. At just the right time, David said, "Ok, you can turn around now." Evelyn's eyes widened as she saw him holding a ring, semi-balancing/kneeling on the rocky surface. Before she could respond, she gasped, and reached for the shiny beauty. It turns out, David had dropped the ring in the water after taking it out of his pocket and almost lost sight of it. Had it not been for the clear water and gentle waves, well... we don't want to think about that. She said YES! It was important to David that it be a private moment, so private that he didn't ask her parents. Of course, however, they were thrilled!

The Destination

Choosing the Valle

Food, wine, sunsets, and simplicity. The Valle De Guadalupe region (Mexico's wine country) is very special to David and Evelyn with it's low-key bliss, rustic charm, artisan cuisine, and stunning landscape. They would like to incorporate and preserve as much of the vibe as possible during their celebration of love. Guests will be welcomed to an experience where they will intermingle (no seating chart), eat as they please (food stations), drink as the lovebirds do (specialty cocktails, beer and wine) and dance into the night (DJ, Banda,)
