Things To Do

DC is a huge tourist destination and we encourage you to check out some of the most popular sites!

United States Capitol

First Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20004

A job in the U.S. Capitol Building is what drew Morgan to D.C. over 10 years ago. Needless to say, it was a great life choice! Visitors can take a guided tour of the Capitol building but reservations are strongly recommended. If you would like to visit the Galleries (to oversee what is happening on the House and Senate floors), reach out to Morgan in advance. She can procure passes for you.

Old Town Trolley Tours Washington DC

1001 E Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004
, 844 356 2603

The monuments are stunning at any time, but the night tour is really special. If you are in town Friday night, we highly recommend.

Unlimited Biking

998 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

Bike tours are a favorite in Morgan's family. You can rent a bike and self-tour or take a guided one around the monuments.

Arlington National Cemetery

Arlington, VA

A more somber visit, but Arlington National Cemetary is a stunning reminder of the service and sacrifice of so many Americans. We recommend trying to catch a Changing of the Guard Ceremony

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

One of our staples, Union Market offers a ton of relaxed but tasty dining and shopping options. Buffalo Bergen for a bagel sandwich, District Fishwife for Poke, or Al Volo for your Italian fix- you really can't go wrong! Just a stones throw from our house so if you find yourself over there, let us know!

Ivy and Coney

1537 7th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

Est. 2013

Old Ebbitt Grill

675 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005

One of the oldest restaurants in D.C., Ebbit hosts a number of, um, "nods" to Teddy Roosevelts prolific hunting hobby. A favorite of Morgan's mom, Kim, she recommends a cup of their fantastic clam chowder. Post- 10pm they offer half off their raw bar which is something to remember.

Electric Cool-Aid

512 Rhode Island Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20001

If monuments aren't your thing but boozy libations are, find your way to Electric Cool Aid. Owned by our friends Angela and Ben, their frozen drinks will cool you off and chill you out, if you know what we mean. ;-)

The Midlands Beer Garden

3333 Georgia Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20010

Another perfect summer spot with ample outdoor AND indoor space. Owned by our good friends Trent and Robin, this has been a staple for birthdays, get-togethers, game-days, and more.

Jack Rose Dining Saloon

2007 18th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

This is where our good friend Danny Boylen introduced us on his birthday in 2013. It's also where we started our first date in 2017.

Tail Up Goat

1827 Adams Mill Road Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

Speaking of first dates, this was stop number two for us. If you've ever gone out to a nice dinner with us, you'll want to consider a stop here.

For all the days along the way
