Laura Stokes
Maid of Honor
Laura and Katy met at Wofford (or shall we say Princess Peace and Queen Harriette) and have been best friends ever since. Katy is a proud honorary member of Laura's family. During their time at Wofford, they could be found gallivanting around Spartanburg and hitting up their favorite spots including QT, Goodwill, and their favorite dorm room dubbed The Castle. Katy and Laura have gone on some great adventures together including driving to Cheesecake Factory over an hour away in a tornado, flying up to NYC for Laura's birthday, and driving cabs down the streets of London just to name a few. Fun fact: Laura is an avid Ravens Fan and loves to deep sea fish.
JP Robertson
Best Man
JP and Jason have been friends since elementary school. Always the anchors for tug-of-war and hater of bear crawls, the two grew closer. Some of JP and Jason’s favorite times include watching Longhorn games, wrestling nights with grilled cheese, and going to movies (unless it’s to bother Tim Duncan for an autograph). Fun fact: JP likes weird European dance music...also he’s a good storyteller.
Katelyn Browne
Bridesmaid
Katelyn and Katy also met at Wofford and have been up to shenanigans ever since. Katelyn and Katy can often be found dancing on counters or hunting for new treasures. Katelyn and Katy both studied abroad during the same time in college and traveled to see each other where one of them contracted the flu... The two of them are both as loud as the other one and after July 20, there will be two KBs in town. Katy is still mad at Katelyn for not letting her take a large container of cheeseballs on the plane to LAX in 2017. Fun fact: Katelyn works at Disney World where KSquared has had many of their adventures the last few years .
Ernie Casarez
Groomsman
Ernie and Jason met in middle school through band, but grew closer at the high school lunchroom table. Ernie joined the Burt clan through his expert Tuba playing skills at various events like the annual Tuba competition during Octoberfest. Ernie and Jason’s most memorable times include DJ Ern nights, Cowboys games with pizza delivery, and trips to Austin. Fun fact about Ernie: He totally has never heard “Hey Ernie, where’s Bert”?
Amy Hartnett
Bridesmaid
Known as the second generation, Amy and Katy have been friends since they were children, just like their parents. The pair can often be found brunching, listening to their favorite local bands, or tailgating during football season. Most recently, Amy and Katy have been roommates where Amy keeps only child Katy in check. Be on the lookout for Amy’s book she’s writing about the bride called #OnlyChildProblems. Fun fact: Amy doesn’t like chocolate.
Alan Arguijo
Groomsman
Alan and Jason first met through another one of Jason’s friends, Alan’s brother, Alex. Alan was always the little brother that became part of the gang. Alan and Jason’s favorite moments include late night BBQs, cheering for the Cowboys and Spurs, and Saturday mornings with Barbacoa tacos. Fun fact: Alan enjoys the occasional mud run or half marathon.
Ashley Davoli
Bridesmaid
Ashley is Katy's high school friend from Ashley Hall. Ashley transferred to Ashley Hall as a junior and the two became fast friends. The two could often be found escaping school on breaks to eat anything but lunchroom food while jamming out to Bleeding Love. While Ashley and Katy both went to different colleges, Katy drove up to surprise Ashley during their freshman year for a weekend (note driving from Spartanburg to DC for a weekend is not recommended) Fun fact: Ashley currently practices law in the state of Virginia.
James Burt
Groomsman
James is Jason’s oldest brother. James is an extremely talented musician and the athletic brother. Jason and James have had many memorable moments including watching Spurs games, playing basketball together, and talking about computers. Fun fact: James likes to brew his own beer.
Chloe Whitworth
Bridesmaid
Chloe is Katy's youngest cousin, better known as just cousin. Cousin and cousin share the same favorite holiday of Thanksgiving and believe in the motto of "Happiness is Being Together". Cousin and cousin were often found up to no good growing up and their hobbies included making power points, trying to obtain brownie points, and driving over an hour to spend too much of their family's money on Chinese take out. Please note that Katy once took baby Chloe for show and tell. Fun fact: Chloe holds a state cross country title and is in her high school's hall of fame.
Justin Burt
Groomsman
Justin is Jason’s older brother. Justin was a great tuba player and loved rocks which is why he went to Stephen F. Austin, where he graduated with a geology degree and met his wife Jennifer. Justin and Jason’s favorite moments include being adventurous on the beaches of Borneo, playing video games, and going to the movies. Fun fact about Justin: Justin is a great bowler (he made me say this).
Fiona Walker (almost Watkins!)
Bridesmaid
Fiona is Katy's other cousin. The cousins (all only children!) have all grown up around their extended family and have been lucky to build memories in Highlands at the family mountain home, Destin, and DC on family death marches headed up by Uncle Duncan. The three cousins would often be put in a room until they could get along. Their longest sit in was 2 hours and 38 minutes in Highlands one Fourth of July. Thankfully Katy now has a new favorite piece of jewelry on her finger, but Katy really wishes Fiona would give back the Polly Pocket necklace she took when the two were little :) ....... Fun fact: Fiona is also engaged to be married this fall and Katy can’t wait to stand beside her as well and be her bridesmaid in September!
Kinsley Burt
Flower Girl
Kinsley is the daughter of the groom's brother, James. When asked if she would be the flower girl for Jason and Katy’s wedding her response was: “Of course!” Needless to say Kinsley is super excited to be a flower girl. Her favorite things include unicorns, stickers, gymnastics and the color pink.
Cohen Burt
Ring Bearer
Cohen is Kinsley’s younger brother and the son of James and Kayla Burt. His favorite things are trucks and his mom.
Caroline Burt
Flower Girl
Caroline is the daughter of Jason's brother, Justin and his wife Jennifer. She is over the moon to be Uncle Jason’s flower girl. Caroline's favorite things include gymnastics, fashions shows, the colors purple and turquoise, and love.
Logan Burt
Ring Bearer
Logan is Caroline's younger brother. He is excited to be a ring bearer. His favorite things include books, Puppy Dog Pals, sharks (cue Baby Shark song), and trucks.
