Flight
When planning your travel, please note that John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is the closest NYC airport to the North Fork of Long Island. From JFK, you will likely need to rent a car for the drive to Greenport, which typically takes about 2 hours but can extend to 3 hours with traffic. LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is another good option to consider in the New York City area. For a potentially shorter drive, consider Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) in Islip. Please note that ISP, formerly known as Islip Airport, is a smaller, regional airport located in Suffolk County and is approximately a 1-hour drive from our venue on the North Fork.
Train
Traveling from New York City? Consider taking the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) directly to Greenport. You can depart from either Penn Station or Grand Central Terminal. All trains to Greenport involve a transfer at Ronkonkoma. Once you arrive at the Greenport station, The Sound View/Halyard is just a short 2-mile ride away.
Train
Another excellent option for traveling from New York City is the Hampton Jitney. This bus service offers direct routes to Greenport from various convenient stops across Manhattan and the boroughs. The Greenport drop-off location is typically near the LIRR station, placing you just a short 2-mile ride from The Sound View/Halyard. The Jitney often provides more frequent departures throughout the day compared to the LIRR, giving you extra flexibility for your travel plans.
