Question

What about COVID?

Answer

We will be taking precautions to keep everyone safe throughout the weekend and we kindly ask for our guests to be fully vaccinated and take a COVID test within 48 hours of traveling to Mexico. We also encourage those eligible to be boosted to do so. Additional COVID Precautions in place include: - COVID testing for guests available on Saturday, 1/8 between 2 - 3pm at Casa Schuck - All wedding events will take place outdoors - All working staff during Friday and Saturday’s events are vaccinated and will wear masks and take temperature checks - Handsanitizer and masks available at every event - Masks required for outdoor parade (per city of San Miguel)

Question

What is the weather like in January?

Answer

San Miguel is at a higher altitude meaning that the days will be warm and sunny, but the nights will be chilly. January daily highs are around 75°F and evening lows are around 45°F. Definitely plan to bring warmer layers for when the sun goes down!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

For the official wedding events, Friday night will be 'festive formal' (we encourage everyone to have fun with their 'lewks') and Saturday will be Black Tie. All of the events will be outside and on uneven flooring, so please be sure to wear comfortable shoes/block heels and bring a jacket/shawl as the evenings can get a little chilly. For the rest of the weekend, a few things that could be helpful: comfy walking shoes (for cobblestone & hilly streets), sunscreen (higher altitude and gets hot during day), light jacket (evenings/mornings can be cold), extra suitcase space (lots of great shopping in the town!) and other things

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

For as long as you can! San Miguel is an incredible place and once you are there, we think you’ll have a hard time leaving. Official wedding events will take place on Friday and Saturday and we will share updates on our Events page as the details are finalized. And if you can come earlier - even better! We’ll be there early in the week and ready to celebrate ;)

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

We do not recommend renting a car. San Miguel is an extremely walkable town with narrow, cobblestone streets (and limited parking). Cabs are abundant and incredibly cheap, so you shouldn't have any issues getting around. However, if you do choose to rent a car, please be extra cautious when driving, especially outside of the cities and at night as the police aren't always as trustworthy as one would hope.... which we learned the hard way!
