One day, Matthew opened his Hinge app and was struck by the radiant smile of a cute girl. He couldn't resist sending her a message to compliment her smile, and from that moment, their story began to unfold. While Alyssa deserves much of the credit for setting up Maddy's Hinge profile, we like to think there was a touch of celestial magic at play. Matthew's mom, who had passed away exactly a year prior, might have been orchestrating things from above, ensuring their paths crossed on that fateful day.

After weeks of asking, and asking, and asking, Matthew finally TOLD Maddy he’s not asking anymore, he is calling her his girlfriend. And she happily accepted her new title:)

Matthew and Maddy signed their lease to an apartment that they are proud to call their first “home” in West Bridgewater. The two are still enjoying their wonderful place together where they enjoy cooking meals together, decorating for the holidays, taking weekend trips to the Cape, and hosting football Sunday’s! They love having people over to enjoy the place they call home.

On the VERY chilly day of November 20th, 2022, Matthew asked Maddy to take their favorite beach walk and embarked on a mission to create a memory that would warm their hearts forever. As if Matthew was not stressed enough, the very clueless Maddy was able to stress him even further as she took a wrong turn, leading them to pass right by their family in covert preparation; luckily she continued to be blissfully unaware of her surroundings. As they exited the car, Matthew's heart raced with each step down their cherished beach. Maddy, still completely unaware of what was to come, continued to tell Matthew she is too cold and wants to turn back. It was not until the magical moment when their nephew, Jaxson, emerged from the marsh, delivering a blue velvet box containing a brilliantly sparkling surprise, that Maddy FINALLY realized what was going on. In that instant, in their favorite place, surrounded by their favorite people who were taking cover in the marsh, Maddy uttered the easiest and most heartfelt "YES" that began the rest of their lives together.
