A short fun hike along the north shore of Puerto Rico. There are seven arches, several caves, and even Taino petroglyphs. The largest of the arches towers a hundred feet over the water. Puerto Rico is one of the few places in the world that has bioluminescent waters. Fajardo is home to one of the bioluminescent bays. The tour consist of kayaking through a mangrove at night until reaching the bay. It is an unforgettable experience. Luckily for us, the 5th of April is a new moon, which means conditions will be perfect in and around the wedding. It is worth noting the bioluminenscence is still recovering after Hurricane Maria. It might be worth contacting your potential tour company and asking what current conditions are. This is a very popular activity, so buy tickets well in advance.
This 16th century Spanish Fort is great way to spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying the ocean breeze, a great view, and learning about Puerto Rican history.
A walk from here along the shoreline over to the Castillo San Felipe del Morro is a great way to see the oldest parts of San Juan.

This rain forest has plenty of waterfalls and trails through the jungle. It is definitely worth visiting if you like nature walks.

For the extra adventurous, Taino Divers has both snorkeling and scuba diving tours to the protected waters of the Desecheo Island. It is a 45 minute boat ride off the coast of Rincón. Giant lobsters and nurse sharks are among the plethora of wildlife found there.
You'll need to catch the ferry or a charter flight to get here, but the trip is worth it. Flamenco Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
A unique beach that has black sand. The sand is very heavy and sticks to a magnet. This beach is on Vieques Island, which is also home to an incredible tree know as La Gran Ceiba. Vieques is also home to the world's brightest bioluminescent bay.
