Matt and Liz met on a blind date at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, on December 19th, 2015. They were set up by mutual friends (thanks, Hannah and Nick!), who went with them on a double date to go see the Holiday Zoo Lights. Things could have easily gone awry - Liz almost went out with someone else that night, and Matthew lost his wallet the night before. Luckily, the stars aligned that day. Walking around the zoo, taking in the lights and holiday cheer amidst the bitter temperatures, Matthew asked Liz if her hands were cold - and if he could hold them to warm them up - and the rest is history.
