We're Getting Married!

A true modern love story, we both swiped right on Tinder and met for our first date at Heritage Tavern in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. We sat chatting for over three hours and the time flew by! Over the next few months, we saw more and more of each other. Then, on New Year's Eve 2016, we finally admitted to each other that there might be something between us.

The Saturday morning after Allison's birthday, she woke up to the smell of pancakes and Taylor calling for her to get up at the ungodly hour of 9 AM. As Allison ate her pancakes, Taylor told her that we were going on a hike at one of our favorite spots, Devil's Lake State Park. As we started the hike, Allison unzipped one of Taylor's day pack pockets to put her chapstick in there. When Taylor asked in a panicked voice why she was rummaging in his bag, Allison started to get suspicious. At the top of one of the rocky bluffs overlooking the lake, Taylor suggested that we stop and take in the scenery. He asked Allison to just stand and look at the lake so he could "take her picture." Allison could hear him digging around in the day pack and thought she knew what was coming. But, she also thought she knew what was coming about 6 months earlier when we hiked Macchu Pichu together, so she tried not to get her hopes up. Luckily, she didn't have to wait long to hear Taylor say her name, turn around, and see him on one knee! Taylor's proposal and Allison's yes were simple, sweet, and from the heart. We scurried back down the path and drove into Baraboo to eat at the Cheeze Factory, one of our favorite restaurants. Allison's family was there with a big bouquet of flowers waiting to celebrate with us! We have been celebrating our engagement ever since, and we can't wait to celebrate the start of our marriage with you! See you in Wisconsin!
