Burgers, fish baskets, and some pretty good daily specials, Henry's is one of Brandon's favorite restaurants. Our favorite dish is the Baja Burger.
A great place and the only place for sushi on island, they have an outdoor seating area right on the ocean where you can watch the otters, sea lions, and eagles, just beware of the potential wind.
Not quite Fairbanks Thai, but still pretty good. Tori is a big fan of their gang panang curry and buttered mussels dishes.
The usual hangout, Tori likes to walk down after work in the summer (her office is across and up the street). 32oz limit but well worth it, don't be afraid to ask for samples, shirts, a growler, or a short tour!
Full bar, darts, pool, and generally our other go-to aside from the brewery, the ladies behind the counter are super nice if a little busy.
A coffee and sandwhich shop near Tori and Brandon's house, They have huge cookies and really good soups.
A scenic drive out of Kodiak, but people rave about the food (we haven't tried here yet).
Breakfast, Brunch, and Lunch, they generally close pretty early but have tasty foods such as burritos, breakfast sandwhiches, pastries, and coffees as well as a little souvenir shop.
Adult admission is $7, children 16 and under are free. Their hours are Tuesday through Saturday, Noon to 4pm. There is also a small gift shop inside.
Cute little gift shop located downtown.
Come visit this small aquarium and touch tank to check out some of the local beach and ocean dwellers you might run into around here. They also have a few free handouts on fishing and cooking tips.
Bowling
Open Monday through Thursday 10am to 8pm and Friday through Sunday 8am to 8pm weather permitting.
A great place for a nice hike, and you can check out some historic bunkers while you walk the trails. Also a cool place for tidepooling. Does require a daily parking pass, but has BBQ areas, volleyball net, and restroom locations along the trails. Great views, potential for whale sightings, and this is also the area where Brandon proposed.
There are a couple of pretty sweet hiking trails from here, as well as a spot for beach bonfires, tidepooling, and fishing. The dogs Ana and Aurora love to run and fetch here! Grab a blanket or some lawn chairs and enjoy a few hours on the beach.
Book early as I don’t know how many charters there will be this year after the pandemic hurt a lot of businesses the previous summer. Remember halibut can be more than 100 pounds. Be prepared to fill a freezer if you are courageous enough to take this on!
Tori and I have not done this but have heard good things.
This is something we've never done but have heard great things about. There are a few outfits on island that give sight seeing tours.
Seriously if there was any place in the world to turn off the technology and actually look around, this is it. Go find a beach, a bench, a rock, a log to sit on, bring a friend if you want, and just enjoy taking a break from the hustle.
