Once Upon a Time...

a sweet girl fell in love...

Heidi Nisly decided to attend Northwest Nazarene University starting the fall of 2017. It just so happened that every school year she took just one class with an incredibly studious acquaintance named Frank, who always completed his work two days ahead of time and seemed smarter than his professors sometimes. In the spring of 2020, Frank asked Heidi to the spring formal event called Black Tie. While she accepted, the subtle flirtatious advances that followed did not suit her. However, after deciding that it was okay to be friends with him, the two attended the event together and she realized that there seemed to be something more. Covid ended up splitting the pair apart, resulting in constant texting and every-other-day Zoom meetings. When Heidi finally returned to Idaho that May, Frank asked her out, to which she easily accepted.

From Another Perspective...

she catches his eye

Frank Crandall started attending NNU in the fall of 2016. When the shy, quiet Montana girl showed up the following year and began taking some classes, he didn't think much of her except that she seemed awfully shy and apparently loved Montana (that was all she ever talked about when professors asked her to describe herself). However, during the winter of 2020, Frank learned that Heidi had never been asked to the spring formal event. Despite his decision not to go at all, he couldn't get her out of his mind and prayed about potentially asking her. When he finally did, she readily accepted. With some small flirting attempts and coincidental (or not so coincidental) interactions, Frank began to get to know Heidi and realized the night of Black Tie that he wanted more. In the weeks that followed, he did everything in his power to spend as much time with her as he could, until covid split them apart; but, even then, he refused to give up. He contacted her daily and made an effort to put time in for her while they were separated, and it paid off. When she returned, he took her on their first date and promptly asked her to be his girlfriend. She gladly accepted.

It's Time to Celebrate

A Love's Full Bloom

Almost a year of dating went by and the two grew very close. When she was unable to attend the spring formal event in 2021 due to a track meet, he took her to the same place they had attended Black Tie together the previous year. With his photographer friend taking pictures of them, Heidi didn't even notice when Frank pulled the ring out of his pocket. He proposed, and she giddily accepted. And now they're putting on a party to celebrate!
