Things To Do

Charlottesville is our home! Here are a few important places to us. We hope you love them as much as we do!
University of Virginia

University of Virginia

Charlottesville, VA

We met as first years at UVA! This is the place we fell in love with Charlottesville and each other. It is a beautiful historic grounds with great architecture, gardens, and coffee shops. Check out the Rotunda for some quintessential Wahoo views.

The Virginian

The Virginian

1521 University Ave, Charlottesville, VA

The Virginian is the oldest restaurant in Charlottesville, continuously operating since 1923... and it's one of our favorite date night spots. It's right on The Corner, which is found right off of UVA's grounds.

Monticello

Monticello

1050 Monticello Loop, Charlottesville, VA

Classic Charlottesville tourist spot... but so worth it! Full of history, architecture, and beautiful views.

Dairy Market

Dairy Market

946 Grady Avenue, Charlottesville, VA

The Dairy Market opened during the "COVID years," and it quickly became a go-to meet up spot for lunch dates or just to fill up an afternoon. Our relationship was just beginning as the world started to shut down. Having someone to take places like the Dairy Market was a bright spot in an otherwise dark time.

Blue Ridge Parkway

Blue Ridge Parkway

Afton, VA

The Blue Ridge Parkway is the best way to get mountain views without a hike! One evening, we were driving back to Charlottesville from Richmond and missed our exit. Frank directed us to the Blue Ridge Parkway and turned the evening around. This photo was taken in between getting lost and some impromptu stargazing.

Vivace

Vivace

2244 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA

Quite literally our favorite restaurant and date spot... and not a single photo there together! Regardless, Vivace is the best! Audrey likes the Penne Pesto and Frank likes the Chicken Parmesan... Garlic bread IS required.

Trinity On The Corner

Trinity On The Corner

1505 University Avenue, Charlottesville, VA

Want to party? Go to Trinity (we call it Trin). We don't frequent there quite so often anymore, but it was the place for late night drinks and dancing!

The White Spot

The White Spot

1407 University Avenue, Charlottesville, VA

The White Spot is the best place for late night food. Frank can normally bribe Audrey to any social event Downtown or on The Corner if she's promised cheese fries afterward. Probably will end up here after the Wedding!

Ragged Mountain Nature Area

Ragged Mountain Nature Area

1730 Reservoir Road, Charlottesville, VA

Ragged Mountain Nature Area is a lovely spot for a short, easy walk or a moderately difficult hike. We have hiked here several times and always come out with a story. Most recently, we came across a very confused truck driver, who was following his GPS down the precarious roads to an imaginary Dollar Tree... Frank helped him turn around.

Humpback Rocks

Humpback Rocks

Milepost 5.8 Blue Ridge Parkway, Lyndhurst, VA

A difficult hike that is totally worth it! Humpback Rocks is an amazing spot to watch the sunrise or sunset.

Ivy Creek

Ivy Creek

1780 Earlysville Road, Charlottesville, VA

Ivy Creek Nature Area is a beautiful place with a little history and a great selection of trails! When we first visited, we both agreed it would be a good spot to propose. While we did not get engaged there there, it is a testament to its picturesque nature.

Carter Mountain

Carter Mountain

1435 Carters Mountain Trail, Charlottesville, VA

Carter Mountain Orchard is one of our favorite spots in the summer and the fall. Check their website to see if any fruit is in season to be picked or if there is any live music playing. Frank and I love to have a date or meet up with friends to watch the sunset and drink cider.

Downtown Mall

Downtown Mall

Charlottesville, VA

The Downtown Mall is a pedestrian friendly area with shops, entertainment, and some amazing restaurants! If you have a couple hours of spare time, day or night, park downtown and just walk around. Frank and I always find something new to do!

Pen Park

Pen Park

1300 Pen Park Road, Charlottesville, VA

Pen Park is the most beautiful local park in Charlottesville. When you find the right trail (wandering helps), you end up in the most beautiful spots. Over the summer, we found an amazing and expansive field of wildflowers that we cannot wait to be in bloom again.

McIntire Park

McIntire Park

375 U.S. 250 Bypass, Charlottesville, VA

This is our favorite place for an afternoon or evening walk. McIntire Park has amazing walking paths and is also the best way to get to the Charlottesville Botanical Garden.

Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's

2025 Bond Street, Charlottesville, VA

Audrey always needs to be within 10 miles of a Trader Joe's. Luckily, she can walk to one from her apartment. Frank likes to give Flower an adventure inside their paper bags.
