You have a free all day pass to the gardens on the day of the wedding! Take advantage and walk around after the wedding, or grab a bite to eat and come back! Just tell the front desk that you’re there for the Pedder wedding and they’ll let you right back in.

16th Street Mall
Less than a 10 minute walk from The Slate Hotel, the 16th Street Mall is a huge (1.7 miles) pedestrianized walkway with over 300 stores, restaurants, and bars. There is also a free shuttle bus that will take you from one end to the other. If you are walking to the mall, we recommend using the address for It’Sugar (500 16th St, Denver, CO) to get to the section of the walkway that’s closest to the hotel.
Denver Art Museum
The Slate Hotel offers passes with discounted admission to the art museum! These passes will be included in your welcome bag at the hotel.
Meow Wolf
Meow wolf is an immersive and interactive art installation. It is like an indoor playground for adults. We do not recommend it to children because some of the art is meant to be bizarre and could be frightening. This is a popular place to visit while under the influence of marijuana. We do not recommend going here if it is your first experience with THC due to the previously stated unnerving nature of the art.

PLEASE BE AWARE that this show is held at the International Church of Cannabis. Francis’s mom, Christie, was not aware of this and was majorly disappointed upon walking into the building and being blindsided by commemorative marijuana souvenirs. While we have not been there ourselves, we have seen on the website that it is encouraged for participants to be under the influence of cannabis during the show and that it is meant to be a “religious” experience. Proceed at your own risk, and tell us how it goes; we are very curious.
The elephant in the room: recreational marijuana
We want to address the fact that many of our guests are from other states, which may not have legalized cannabis use. If you choose to partake in this classic Colorado pastime, we have some important advice. 1. It is illegal to smoke marijuana in public places, and we have not set aside bail money in the wedding budget. 2. If you choose to go the edible route, *please* take your time. Start at 5mg and wait an hour before increasing by another 5mg. Repeat up to 15mg total. It is much better to give up and be disappointed than to turn into Chicken Little. 3. Do not be embarrassed to ask the “budtender” at the dispensary for advice. Also be prepared to pay for your purchase in cash. 4. Please do not arrive at the wedding under the influence of drugs/alcohol. We want the wedding to be memorable, but not *that* kind of memorable. Overall, we hope you get the absolute most out of this experience, and that you have fun enjoying the most Colorado thing that Colorado has to offer.
