Question
What is the attire?
Answer
Our attire is Colorful Cocktail! Please have fun with your outfits! Our colors are jewel tones, so saturate colors such a burgundy, plum, blues, forest greens, and other lovely bright colors would be appreciated, but there no need to go out of your way to buy a new outfit. Please avoid jeans, white, and black, unless it's slacks. The afterparty is much more relaxed and goes late into the night, so you may want to bring a comfy and celebratory change of clothes for late night. The more fun, the better!

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Answer
Much of the ground is a small-medium grain gravel and dirt, so consider leaving the stilettos at home. The ceremony and dance party are both on a wooden stage floor.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
The weather is typically hot but not uncomfortable. We are lakeside, so there is often a breeze from the water. Please plan on warm temps for daytime. and bring layers or something comfy for nighttime.

What do we need to know about parking and arrival?
Answer
There are 3 different wedding sites on property. We are at the Stage Area. Staff from the venue will greet you upon arrival. Please follow their direction and signs for parking. It is an easy, 5 min walk from parking across a dirt path. If you prefer, we will have a couple golf carts to drive guests from parking to the event site. There will be a sign for golf cart waiting area by the parking lot. They will simply do a lap back and forth, so please arrive a bit early and the golf cart will cycle back to the parking or event site as it completes its loop.

What is the reception like?
Answer
We hope to have our reception feel like a fun family reunion. We'll have a barbecue going for dinner, no assigned seating, and some lawn games. We're happy to keep cooking as long as people want to eat! We're hoping for a free-form, more relaxed celebration than you might typically find at a wedding.

What's Dance the Night Away?
Answer
Dancing will start at approx. 8:30pm, and will end whenever the party winds down! There's no end time! We can see the sun come up! Kyle, Francesca, and their event friends are pulling together to throw a raging party with our amazing DJ, lighting designers, lots of moving lights, and an incredible sound system donated by our industry friends. It's our chance to throw the most ridiculous party we can get away with. Please come with your best dancing (or just drink some tequila) and celebrate as long as you want!

Where is Horning's Hideout?
Answer
Horning's Hideout is a lovely property about 45 minutes from downtown Portland, and 25 minutes outside Hillsboro. They are open to the public for camping, fishing, and general day use. Some activities they offer are paddleboat rentals, a disc golf course, and the lake is stocked with trout. Our wedding will be at the Stage Area, a wooden festival stage surrounded by pines and overlooking the lake. There are campsites surrounding the lake that are included in our rental. Campsites are available from 4pm on 8/20 to 11am on 8/21. Please let Kyle and Francesca know if you would like to camp for the wedding! Are the ceremony and reception ADA accessible?
Answer
Our wedding site is friendly to motorized wheelchairs and guests with limited mobility. Traditional wheelchairs/walkers may be difficult as it's not all on concrete. Please note restrooms are a very short walk uphill on dirt/grass, and parking is a 5 min. walk away along a dirt path. We will have a couple golf carts on hand to help guests to the restrooms, and from parking lot, and to generally help folks move around. Folks with mobility concerns can drive wherever they need and will be taken care of. Other than the restrooms, the main event area is level and generally agreeable to those with mobility concerns. What if I want to come but have travel concerns?
Answer
We understand it's difficult to travel to Oregon for some folks. If you would like to be linked up with a buddy for the drive from CA, or need help transporting camping gear, please reach out to Kyle and Francesca, and we can connect you with another guest who has space in their vehicle! We're getting a bit creative helping folks with logistics, and don't want that to be a limiting factor for anyone. Our community is pulling together for this event in a really wonderful way, and chances are there's probably a helping hand available for you. If you are on the fence about coming because of a logistical hurdle, please reach out to Francesca and she can help link you up.
