How We Met

Like any modern day romance - we met on an online dating app! On January 11, 2018 we met at a wine & burger bar after work and the chemistry was instant. We were the last table in the restaurant and still weren't done talking so we took a walk around the outdoor mall and then decided to go to a late movie ("The Shape Of Water" ...it was weird). It turned into about a 5 hour first date and we both knew we had something special.

Our Engagement

Lauren knew David had asked for her parent's blessing in October 2019 but didn't know how or when he would finally pop the question. It became a bit of a running joke between them, David even pretended to get down on one knee on Christmas Eve when they were taking pictures! For their 2 year anniversary, David had a business conference that week in San Francisco so Lauren joined him so they could have a nice weekend in Napa. Early the morning after they arrived in San Francisco, Lauren thought they were driving up to Napa for the day (and secretly hoped a proposal was on the horizon!) and David said he wanted to take a quick detour to see the Golden Gate Bridge on their way out of town. They walked down to the water and it was a crystal clear morning when all of the sudden one of Lauren's favorite songs, "Songbird" by Eva Cassidy, started to play and she turned around finally understanding that it was all happening. David gave her the beautiful love paragraph that she always hoped for and then got down on one knee. David had also incorporated Lauren's grandmother's diamond, which turned out to be 100 years old, into her beautiful engagement ring. They spent the rest of the day celebrating in Napa, visiting wineries and being so excited to officially start planning their future together.
