Officiant
We both met Janeen as instant fans of her musical talents before we became friends. We were quickly charmed by her magical voice, fondness for dinosaurs and love for love. She got to see us transition from just friends to "will they won’t they" to they definitely are. We were quickly in agreement to choose Janeen to officiate our wedding because over the years she’s been excited for us with each step we’ve taken together. Now she’s one of our biggest fans.
Matron of Honor
Pallavi is my younger sister and the middle of the Kumar kiddos. She has been patient through all the texts and phone calls that came along with the process of me figuring out that Taylor wasn’t just a friend in the group that played board games together but something more. I spent many nights picking apart every single interaction he and I had for almost 5 years and she let me run through every single detail over and over again. That is the crux of a true good sister. The best. I got to be a part of her engagement and wedding process just last year and I love that we get to switch roles so that she gets to be a part of mine.
Bridesman
Madhav is the littlest Kumar with the biggest brain and definitely the biggest heart. He has always been the mediator and voice of reason in our family and the one that pushes us to be charitable with our assumptions when things get tense. He’s the one that will answer my questions about something that I don’t care to look up myself because he somehow already knows about it. We’re so lucky to be a trio of kids that have grown up and stayed this close so of course I would have him stand up with me on this special day.
Bridesmaid
Maggie is one of my best friends and was my college roommate for 3 years at Wofford. We’ve stayed in touch ever since we graduated, through her being in a small village in Paraguay for the Peace Corps, to me moving along the south east for work, to her moving to Vermont and starting a family. And by staying in touch I mean talk almost every day. We’ve both been involved to the point of intrusive in each other’s lives and I wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s been team Taylor since 2010 and knew that we were meant to be before we even knew it.
Best Man
Dad is my best man, truly the best man in my life. I couldn’t ask for a better role-model growing up. He was a solid support, through school, sports, and scouting. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without him, and I am so happy to have him with me as Devika and I take this step in our lives.
Groomswoman
Jenny is my oldest sister. Growing up, it was easy to admire her academic success and athletic talents, but what I admire most is her open-mindedness, curiosity, and confidence. As the oldest, she was a trail-blazer. I saw the value of questioning convention while respecting tradition. Though she lives in Missouri now, she never feels far away. She was quickly a fan of Devika, and I am so glad to have her solid support for us, and that she is with us on our wedding day.
Groomswoman
Molly is my middle-est sister. She is cheerful and strong-willed, and I admire that she never meets a stranger. She was such a good support; I never felt like an annoying younger brother and she included me and my friends in sports, movie nights, etc. She inspired me to get into soccer and work hard to get better, and was even willing to show me some moves. Molly first met Devika as a friend who loved to babysit, but treated her like family right away. I am glad to have the support of her and my brother-in-law, Carter, on our wedding day.
Groomswoman
Chelsea is my twin sister. It’s hard to express how much her support has meant. She has been there for my trials, tribulations, and victories. Even in high school, during the times we didn't get along at all, she would make sure I didn't forget assignments or slack off. She is such a smart and determined person, and has helped me see the importance of knowing who you are and what you want in the world. She is getting married this May and I am excited to be there on her and Lucas' day! I am so happy that she can be with Devika and me on our wedding day also.
