We're getting married!

We met in 2019 at Rockford University’s freshman retreat—a weekend all about making lifelong friends, though neither of us expected to find the one. We were introduced to each other by a mutual friend and spent the whole weekend together by each other's side. From there, it just felt easy—like we’d known each other forever. We started meeting up after class at our acclaimed picnic table outside the library, spent countless nights watching movies in Foster's dorm room, and when summer came, we drove over an hour just to see each other. People always say your spouse should be your best friend, and somehow, we’ve been that for each other since the very beginning and continue to be. We're so excited to take this next step in our relationship, hand-in-hand, as forever best friends.

Foster proposed at his favorite childhood spot—the Kenosha Waterfront. After grabbing ice cream from Scoops downtown, we wandered along the rocks by the water hand-in-hand, just enjoying what felt like a simple, sweet date. We found a quiet little cove and sat watching the waves when Miranda jokingly said, “Alright, you can give me the ring now.” She had no idea he actually had it in his pocket the whole time! Somehow, she didn’t notice a thing—but it turned out to be the most perfect intimate moment, the most perfect place, and the most perfect “yes.”
