Which Time? Jessica and Patrick first caught each others' eyes at Stadium Apartment at the Univeristy of Minnesota Duluth on Patrick's 21st birthday. A few years later, they were both Corpsmembers with Northern Bedrock Historic Preservation Corps. The first week of orientation was at Halfway Ranger Station. Through the season, they grew closer and the rest is history.
It was Thanksgiving and Jessica, Patrick, and Tuna (kitten) decided to spend a couple of days at the Glander family cabin near Tamarack, MN. The morning started with a great breakfast and a cup of coffee in a subtle cup that said 'Happy Anniversary." The cup looked like it was from the 1960s and Jessica didn't catch the hint. Jessica kept with her usual routine of breakfast and the parade (on both channels but we all know one is better). Patrick wanted to go hiking at Savannah Portage State Park. We figured we should go before all the cooking and while there was some daylight. We went to the hiking trail we had been before all dressed in orange. At the scenic overlook, half frozen, Patrick got down on one knee and asked the question. Jessica said Yes!!
One of the first places Jessica and Patrick went to work with Northern Bedrock Historic Preservation Corps was Halfway Ranger Station on the shores of the South Kawishiwi River. Jessica and Patrick after the corps continued to be apart of the restoration at Halfway. There is a lot of love, memories, and special moments at Halfway and we hope you experience it as well.
The reception will be at the Grand Ely Lodge. More details to come on timeline. Please see the 'Travel' tab for more information if you are interested in booking a hotel room at the Grand Ely Lodge.
