We are going to do our best to space chairs for the ceremony and tables for the reception. We are going to have a seating chart for the reception now to cut down on overcrowded tables. We will be altering our catering in a way to cut down on touching/germs spreading. We are also going to attempt a colored bracelet system which would indicate to other guests your comfort level and social distancing preference. Green - Hugs & Handshakes, but will be frequently hand washing Yellow - Elbows only, still being cautious Red - No contact, 6 feet apart please We definitely want all our loved ones to be present for our special day, but if your going to be uncomfortable, scared and you won’t enjoy yourself that’s probably not worth risking your health.
If you would like to wear a mask you may do so, but we are not requiring them.
ASAP or before September 1st
Before 4 pm (CST)
We are getting married outdoors. Obviously we would like everyone to look nice, but feel free to dress in whatever makes you comfortable. For example, a dress shirt and khakis, or a spring skirt and blouse would be lovely. Black tie attire is not required! The reception will be indoors and following immediately after the ceremony.
We will be having an UNPLUGGED ceremony at our wedding. While we fully encourage everyone to bring their phones, cameras, and video devices to document the day (plus your awesome outfit and fabulous dance moves), we politely request that all devices be turned OFF during the ceremony. Photos welcome at our plugged-in reception! Once we receive the professional images from our photographer after the wedding, we will be happy to share them with you all.
More information available on the "Registry" tab. The most important gift to us is having you sharing our special day. However, should you wish to help us celebrate with a gift, a contribution to our honeymoon would help to create memories that will last a lifetime. We have forgone setting up a "honey fund" registry due to the fact that the companies that own these sites take a portion of the gift as a fee. We would accept cash, check or Disney gift cards which are available at Target, Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee, etc. Gifts can be brought in person to the wedding or if unable to attend, mailed to 1606 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, IA 50208.
We have decided to pay for the bar ourselves and the alcohol limitations are very relaxed at our venue, but please drink RESPECTFULLY. We will be providing beer, wine, vodka, rum, whiskey & assorted soda/mixers. If these options do not appeal to you, feel free to bring something along you do like. We want everyone to have a great time and get home safely. If planning ahead please see the "Hotels" tab for information about hotel rooms available nearby. There is Lyft/Uber/Taxis in our area we can help you arrange too.
