Question

Where is everyone else staying?

Answer

Many of our wedding guests are centralized in Port Townsend — this will be where most of the wedding party and the couple's families are staying. Other good options include Poulsbo, Port Ludlow, Bainbridge Island, and Kingston. There is also a discount available for guests staying at the Marriott near Port Gamble. Please see our ‘‘Travel’’ page for more information about getting to the venue.

Question

Can I stay on Whidbey Island?

Answer

Homes on Whidbey Island occasionally show up on Airbnb as being ‘‘close’’ to our venue. However, the Port Townsend/Coupeville Ferry runs on an infrequent schedule and is often full, requiring travelers to wait for the next ferry. We do not recommend staying on Whidbey Island due to this. You can learn more about the ferry schedules by visiting https://wsdot.com/ferries/schedule/default.aspx.

Question

Will I need to rent a car?

Answer

If you are coming from out of town, you will need a vehicle to get to Port Gamble — whether that's renting a car or carpooling with another guest! The Kitsap Peninsula is fairly remote and unfortunately ride share options like Uber or Lyft are not reliable.
