A Double Rainbow Romance

A few years ago, Danielle used to come in to Double Rainbow with her laptop to do the back office for her music lessons business. Danielle and Forrest sometimes chatted about entrepreneur life, and gradually became friends. One day, Danielle was working in Double Rainbow, where she joined a paid dating site which requires you to sign up for six months right away. Then... she saw Forrest's fuzzy picture on the terrible-quality app. She chuckled to herself. "Hi Forrest, Do you want to go on the most convienent date ever!?" She wrote. "I'm about ten feet from your office door, and I think we might hit it off." She waited to hear back... But, unfortunately, Forrest had been tricked by the same 6-month gimmick. He saw her message, but in his busyness did not get back right away. A few days later when he went to retrieve her number, his subscription had expired. He sighed. "She'll come in again soon." Trying to give him space, she did not. Was she worth the $60 re-subscription? Yes, but when he paid for it and texted her a couple months later, she was otherwise committed. More ships-in-the-night timing continued. Finally, she decided to close her business and accept a job in Portland, Oregon. A few weeks before her move, he invited her to dinner as friends. They had an amazing time, but due to their apparently sealed fate, did not kiss. All that week, they ran into each other... In the parking lot. At the grocery store. At the cafe. Driving through Mill Valley, she saw a street sign: "Forrest." It seemed like the Universe was taunting them. SHUT UP! She moved to Portland anyway, not wanting to impulsively abandon her plans. During her time in Portland, they spoke on the phone every day and visited monthly, unsure how it could possibly work. When, six months later, it was clear Portland was not working out, Forrest was still there persistently waiting. She moved home to be with him, where most nights they enjoy a good old boring cuddle with the dog and TV.
