It was dinner time after a long day of chasing down Disney characters for autographs and photos. As is the way on a Disney Cruise! Being that dinners were the culinary highlight on the cruise, we were seated early and eagerly waiting to eat. Stu joins the table a few minutes after us and comes in raging about some exclusive character out in the lobby. Must be some exclusive princess Ziyah just has to see. Being pregnant with Izza I was just about done with princesses and heroes but we indulged and went out to the lobby anyway. When we got out there there were no princesses in sight, no heroes no impromptu performances. Instead there was some young lady singing Perfect by Ed Sheeran over an acoustic guitar. It was a lovely performance but what does Ed Sheeran have to do with Disney?? Just as I was about to abandon this weird and frustrating mission, the woman stops singing and calls my family to the stage. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, with a shy stress laugh I reluctantly waddled up to the stage. Thinking maybe we won something. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Things escalated quickly from there, before I knew it Stu was on one knee with a microphone, Ziyah was brimming with the excitement of the big secret only she knew and somehow was able to keep to herself. With Izza rolling inside me, and the magic of the moment filling the room as I stood there processing everything, I said YES! The lobby exploded with excited cheers and applause from the other guests, not to mention the rest of our group who were yelling at the top of their lungs🤦🏽‍♀️ Just like that, somewhere in the Atlantic off of the coast of the Bahamas, on February 21, 2019, on board a Disney ship perfectly named, Magic, Stu and I were engaged! I’ve been a Bride-Zilla ever since👰🏽
