The Plaza de las Flores is a little jewel in Cuenca, alive with roses and orchids that fill the air with fragrance. Tucked beside the convent, the nuns offer their centuries-old herbal tea through a small window—an intimate tradition that feels as timeless and enchanting as the square itself. It’s a beautiful spot to pause and take some aesthetic photos!
Parque Calderon offers a variety of attractions and events. From the beautiful gardens to the local vendors selling different handmade crafts. Not only is it a great place to pick up authentic souvenirs, but the surroundings is filled with eye catching architecture.
Dos Chorreras has two locations, one in the center city of Cuenca and another on just the outside of Cuenca, both coffee shops have a dreamy hideaway where the magic of Ecuadorian cacao comes to life! This is a place we always love to visit, not only for their delicious chocolate desserts but the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains in their Cajas location. If you're lucky there is also a white haired donkey pacing around!
In November 2022, Jhonny and I stayed at the Itza Hotel and spent a magical evening at Zaza 360 Rooftop. With cocktails in hand, we enjoyed a romantic view of Cuenca’s cathedral glowing against the night sky.
