FAQs

The Wedding Website of Kevin Rauscher and Kaitlyn Davis
Question

When should I arrive and leave?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Friday, July 18th and departing Monday, July 20th.

Question

Where should we book a hotel if we aren’t staying with the group Airbnb?

Answer

If you plan to book your own accommodations, we recommend staying near Luquillo, which is where our Airbnb villa (Casa Carabali) is located and where the after-party celebration will take place following the dinner reception. Some great hotel options near Luquillo include: Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach & Golf Resort – A beautiful beachfront resort near El Yunque rainforest. Fairfield by Marriott Luquillo Beach – A newer hotel option right in Luquillo. Selva Boutique Hotel – A smaller boutique-style stay close to the beach. You’re certainly welcome to stay in San Juan or Isla Verde, especially if you want to be closer to nightlife or the ceremony venue. However, keep in mind that San Juan is about 40–50 minutes from Luquillo, which may become inconvenient later in the evening after the reception and celebration. There may also be some other AirBnB options available which you'll be able to find/book on the AirBnB website.

Question

Which airport should I fly into?

Answer

Fly into San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) — it’s just minutes from Isla Verde.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Transportation isn’t provided, but Uber and Lyft are easy and affordable options.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Dress code: Tropical semi-formal. Think lightweight, breathable fabrics like linen or cotton — July is the hottest month in Puerto Rico, so comfort is key! 🌞 Keep in mind that brief tropical showers are common that time of year, but they usually pass quickly and bring back the sunshine. We’ll be embracing the island weather and all its beauty!

Question

Do I need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico?

Answer

No passport needed! 🇵🇷 Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, so it’s considered domestic travel. You can fly using your Real ID–compliant driver’s license or another valid form of government-issued identification. Passports are always welcome if you prefer to use them, but they’re not required.

Question

When will Kevin and Kaitlyn be in Puerto Rico?

Answer

We’ll be arriving a little early to enjoy some time together before the festivities begin. Our current plan is to arrive on July 15 and depart on July 20. If anyone is thinking about arriving early as well, you’re more than welcome to let us know and meet up with us while we’re there!

Question

Can I arrive earlier or stay longer to enjoy Puerto Rico?

Answer

Absolutely! Puerto Rico has so much to offer, and we encourage guests to make a vacation out of the trip if they’d like. Whether you want to relax on the beach, explore Old San Juan, or visit the rainforest, extending your stay is a great way to experience the island.

Question

What currency is used in Puerto Rico?

Answer

Puerto Rico uses the U.S. Dollar (USD), so there’s no need to exchange money. Credit cards are widely accepted throughout the island.

Question

Will my phone work in Puerto Rico?

Answer

Yes! Puerto Rico is part of the United States, so U.S. cell phone plans work normally with most carriers. You should not incur international roaming charges.

Question

Do people speak English in Puerto Rico?

Answer

Yes! While Spanish is the primary language, English is widely spoken in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, and attractions.

Question

What should I pack for the trip?

Answer

Think tropical vacation attire. Lightweight clothing, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and swimwear are highly recommended. Since July is the hottest month in Puerto Rico, breathable fabrics like linen or cotton are ideal.
