After months observation, something ignited within Brandon. His approach in front of Tanna’s parents at church set him on a blazing journey of calls, fiery texts and hangouts. He opened with “I don’t mean to make a weird pass at you, but you are really pretty,” and quickly exited. His “hello” shifted everything. The first interactions were 4 hours, then 6 hours, then 8 hours. Brandon is as relentlessly heart-driven as Tanna is analytically head-driven. An In-N-Out parking lot burger was their first hangout (thank you lockdowns). They drove six hours from Ashland to Shady Cove a dozen times yet wanted to learn more. They continue to contend together and for each other, as the two of them see God’s grace for themself as beggars. God’s extravagant love meets them. Tanna began praying for a husband at 14…. yet she gave up. As Brandon came to himself he began rebuilding his dormant child-like faith. In returning to his roots, he regularly turns his face to the Father in Bible reading, prayer, worship, and fellowship. The lovers conversations deepen as they find in one another a place they belong. It’s their indisputable “there you are.” Pizza ‘n prayer, hangouts ’n hikes. They practice the will to overlook offenses and the kind emotion to smooth out rough edges.
