Maid of Honor
Britney and Alyssa became friends in undergrad at Towson University. Alyssa’s stubbornness to make new friends was no match for Britney’s persistence in wanting Alyssa’s friendship. Britney is now Alyssa’s best friend and a welcomed member of her family. In fact, she has traveled multiple years to Wisconsin just to spend Christmas with the Everett’s. This wedding wouldn’t be complete without her.
Matron of Honor
Maddie and Alyssa have known each other since they were classmates at Fallston Middle School (such babies)! In high school, Maddie and Alyssa were in many of each other’s classes (to which Maddie regularly had to convince Alyssa to actually attend), spent senior week together in Ocean City, MD and continued to build their friendship when College separated them. The 6-hour distance in College years didn’t hamper their friendship in anyway because quarterly road trips were made to see one another. Following undergrad, both Alyssa and Maddie ironically ended up pursuing and receiving their doctorate degrees in Arizona. Maddie has and will continue to be an integral part of Alyssa’s life.
Bridesmaid
Alyssa and Nicole met in Grad school at the University of Arizona where they both went on to become doctors of audiology! Regularly during their AuD program, professors and staff would ask them where their other half was since they were always together. Whether it’s Hot Toddy hopping, Santa Claus palooza, or just sitting on the couch watching The Voice together, it is always a memorable adventure. Although Nicole went off to pursue her dreams in the Bay Area, Alyssa and Nicole remain as close and supportive of each other as ever.
Bridesmaid
Lori and Alyssa technically met in Grad school but became friends over one word, Oh? Lori and Alyssa were inseparable throughout Grad school getting drinks, brunching, karaoking, and playing Pokémon. In fact, if it wasn’t for Lori and Alyssa’s Pokemon adventures together, Alyssa and Mark would have never met. Lori is now back in the Mid-West but distance will not stop this friendship from continuing.
Junior bridesmaid
Mark’s 9-year old daughter will soon be a part of Alyssa’s family too!
Best Man
John, Mark’s older brother of nearly five years, has been with him from the start. Although John gained an early independence, it didn’t stop him from becoming the most loving and accepting brother Mark could ask for, leaving a close bond that will last a lifetime.
Groomsman
Ryan and Mark met in sixth grade as silly young boys, constantly outdoing each other in creative nonsense. Their friendship was quick and easily made as they are happy doing just about anything together, a truth that remains to this day.
Groomsman
Anthony and Mark weren’t close from the start as they knew of each other in High school. This all changed in a serendipitous meeting in a park in 2016 while playing Pokémon go. From this moment, their love grew like fire. Although Mark’s heart has been wholly given to Alyssa, Mark and Anthony will share a bromance forever.
Groomsman
Jonathan, Alyssa’s oldest brother, met Mark while visiting Tucson for Alyssa’s 25th birthday. They were able to share quality time together right away while celebrating for someone they both clearly love. While having a strong bond over Alyssa is clear, Mark feels that he could celebrate with Jonathan over anything and is honored to be gaining him as a brother.
Junior Groosman
Mark’s 10-year old son
Mother of the Bride
Elena is undeniable Alyssa’s biggest supporter in all aspects of her life. She was given the role of mother but is just as deserving of the title best friend in Alyssa’s eyes. Not a single day goes by that Alyssa and Elena don’t speak, usually on the phone since Elena resides in Maryland while Alyssa is in Arizona. Time zones and distance are not large enough obstacles to break this extremely special bond. Elena has been key in this wedding, from throwing an incredible engagement party to picking out THE dress, to helping with all of the planning since planning a wedding from across the country is not always easy. Elena has welcomed Mark into this tight-knit family with welcomed arms and the couple couldn’t be more excited to make “part of the family” official with her blessing.
Father of the Bride
Bruce passed away on July 31, 2011 and the loving memory Alyssa has for her father is unmistakable. His pride in Alyssa shines brightly in the big moments of her life as well as the small. His presence on this day will be missed but his encouragement not forgotten. The traditional responsibilities of “Father of the Bride” will be passed on to Alyssa’s brother, Ryan.
